"... beach!" Katie said.
"Awesome," Kellie replied. "Let's go get changed."
Katie went to her room to find something to wear. Her one-piece suits were all out now that she was 10. She had to pick a tankini and hope no one would notice it was too small. Luckily she could cover it with an outfit she had bought yesterday at the mall.
Kellie spent a lot of time picking out what to wear. Most of the bathing suits she had were not only too big on her but, she felt, too old-looking for what Katie thought her age was. She finally found a bikini way in the back of her drawer.
She put it on and stared objectively at herself in the mirror. At 29, she looked terrific. Tanned skin, honey colored hair, bright eyes, just a few hint of crows feet creeping in. She was curvy and busty in all the right places, with just a small "pooch" in front but FAR from fat.
"I still looked good back then," she thought. "I could look a little better but still, not bad."
Kellie threw on a cover up top and her sandals and headed downstairs, where Katie was waiting.
"Wow Mom, you look great!" Katie said.
"Thank you dear that's very sweet of you," Kellie said absentmindedly, "But I think I need to hit the gym a little harder. I guess I can't look 25 forever."
The change was barely noticeable but it was there: Her waist narrowed slightly, although her legs and arms remained the same; her butt rose just a tad, as did the droop of her teardrop-shaped breasts; her tan darkened and her hair grew longer as well, reaching her mid-back.
"C'mon kiddo, we gotta go," Kellie said. "I wanna stop at the liquor store for some beer on the way to the beach." Beer? It had been a long time since Kellie had thought about that. Maybe it was being 25 that did it. Today would be an interesting day.
