It was third period and Eric Anderson was feeling a little apprehensive. He, like everyone else heard through word of mouth and social media; what Brian Walker said when he publicly dumped Julie. ‘Find someone else who is willing to let you polish their knob.’ Brian states on a video Eric saw through his phone. Someone recorded it for that added oomph he thought. As amusing as it was to see Julie’s face contort in shock, shame, anger and back to shame; Eric knew he had to watch himself. He didn’t pay attention as he nearly walked into a large person as he entered for his history class.
“Sorry.” Eric quickly states. “I wasn’t paying attention.” As he tries to side step the large teenager.
“It’s fine.” He replies. “we all get lost in our moments. My name is John. John Shaffer.” John continues. “You’re Eric. Julie told me about you last night. She talked to me as I walked her home after she escaped her confinement.”
Eric’s blood runs cold. Could this person be out to inflict harm on him he wonders.
“Sorry. I seemed to spook you there. I happen to do that to people. I'm quite tall for my age.” John continues “I'm a werewolf. Based off of the Timber Wolf."
John quickly explains to Eric what happened last night. Events that no one but Julie and John know about. Eric breathes as sigh of relief that the large person wishes no harm upon him. He tries to run away but is stopped by John’s sheer size. Eric also notices John sniffing him in a weird way.
“I thought you were a normal. Yet you smell like a were” John as quizzically.
“I am a normal!" Eric responds. Starting to sound nervous. Could Julie have scratched him while he wasn’t aware this morning? “Why you ask? Do I smell like fish?”
John raises his eye brow in curiosity. “No. Not fish.”
Eric sighs again. But his heart is still racing. If he is becoming a were then who scratched him? What will he become? “What do I smell like he nervously whispers?”
John leans in so only Eric can hear. “Not quite sure. A feline species is my guess. Could be tiger or a lion. Your guess is a good as mine.”
“Frieda Knight.” Eric states. “It was Frieda. She must of scratched me before first period.”
John, with a serious look on his face. “The same Frieda that is friends with Julie?”
“Ex friend with the way the wind is blowing.” Eric quickly states. Eric tells John of his girlfriend Spencer Lawson. That she is a hybrid species of panther, wolf and werecat. That they are in love and with Frieda's help, he was going to be a were-panther by the end of the day.
“Looks like your well on your way to being a were-panrther then,” John smiles. At that moment the second bell begins, both John and Eric take their seats. John thinks to himself. “Julie is going to be livid when she finds out about this.” John also wonders if his Mother is in real trouble with her recent arrest last night.
Eric quickly fires off a text message to Frieda asking if he truly has been scratched by her. He waits a few nervous minutes for the reply yet is unable to see it. The reply from Freda is short. ‘Yes. We’ll talk during lunch.’ Following the text is a happy face and wink emoji. The teacher arrives and begins the day’s lesson for the class.
