Belle rummaged through her wardrobe. She knew she had put it in there somewhere! However, her search proved fruitless, and after several minutes of digging and relocating the same clothes different spots more times than she could count, she sat down in defeat.
“I can’t have lost it… It was right there…” She muttered out loud, a long sigh following. The young girl had received a unique treasure on her eighteenth birthday – a necklace with a golden tooth on it, the tooth in question must have been inspired by a predator’s.
“Belle! Time’s running out!” He friend, Bianca, shouted from outside. Only now did Belle realize how much the clock was – school was starting soon.
“Ah! I…I’m almost ready!” She hastily replied back, clumsily getting to her feet and grabbing her white blouse and skirt, unaware of the necklace still laying I the shirt pocket.
“…This is the third time I’ve had to call on you like that. You’re so careless!” Bianca complains, although, by the tone of her voice, it’s easy to tell that she’s just teasing. She’s a slender, though lightly muscular girl with tan skin, brown eyes and pale blonde hair, well-known for her out-going and cheerful attitude. To be honest, if anyone’s careless of the two, it would be Bianca.
“Sorry. I guess I’m not used to living by myself yet…” Belle replies, following with a nervous chuckle. With blue, shoulder-length hair, a shorter than average height and captivating green eyes, it’s clear why many guys in her class, and outside of it, find her adorable. Additionally, she herself isn’t the most up-front girl out there. In fact, she’s pretty shy around most people.
“Jeez… That’s a terrible excuse.” Bianca wastes no time replying, patting Belle on the head. “I been easy on you until now… BUT! I would gladly resort to more…drastic tactics.” Her tone shifts from teasing to down-right unnerving.
“R-right… I get it… Maybe I should just get an alarm clock already…”
“You should have gotten one weeks ago.”
“…I guess.”
They made it just in time. A high-class school, praised for its consistently above average results. Usually, only wealthy or those with high degrees managed to get in.
However, the necklace, sensing all the humans within its proximity, could finally fulfill its purpose. Enchanted with a spell capable of changing a living being’s form, the school will be nothing more than a crumbling building, no longer occupied by the students and teachers currently inside. Belle didn’t even notice it slipping out of her pocket, dissolving into the air as the tiny dust particles that remains of it mixes with the air, starting an unavoidable chain of change.
