"Wait a second" Milton pondered
"Huh? What is it?"
"You said this machine could change ANYTHING about you, right?"
"Y-yeah?"
"...and NO ONE would notice?"
"Right!"
"So how do you know you didn't use it on yourself?"
Katie sat there in stunned silence. It was like time froze.
Milton narrowed his eyes, "You did, didn't you?"
Katie began to look guilty.
"Of course, how else would you know it worked. So what's the deal? What did you change? Your stomach? Your legs?"
"I-I don't remember but...you're right. It's like...I kinda remember. Like I WANT to remember, but I just can't."
"Think maybe there's a log of some kind? Show what actions you previously did?"
"Hang on...lemme check...I'm not too good with computers though..."
"Here. Let me see that..."
Milton looked at the interface. It was relatively user friendly and with a few clicks he found it...and his eyes went wide.
"...JOHN?!"
Katie was immidiately struck with a wave of half-remembered memories.
"Wow. Suddenly everything makes so much more sense. Katie...if this change log is correct, you used to be a dude named John and we were best buds!"
"I...but...no I've...I've always been a girl, haven't I? So...why do I remember...ohmigawd."
"So THAT'S why my memories of our friendship are so weird and why ALL of this feels so strange! I wonder if there's a way to turn you back..."
