Tachibana was at her office in Moon Lake’s small downtown. While it was a small building that ran Tachibana Industries; It was however a building with a proud history. It was once the original town hall to Moon Lake shortly after its founding. Over the decades it has been gutted, remodeled, caught fire and ever rebuilt. Yet when the new town hall was built to accommodate the larger town council and increased publics work office; Tachibana chose to purchase the property for her own use. “Good bones and an old soul,” she once said to her grandson.
It was early in the morning, well before most people’s alarm clocks were starting to go off. The sun still not yet raised. Tachibana was reviewing every single corporation transaction that her grandson Daisuke could ferret upon being informed that Benton Knight was scheming to take over. While it was a short noticed emergency; Daisuke was able to discover most of Benton’s dummy companies and enact a plan to blunt his advances. “Not on my watch, you black hearted panther;” Tachibana mutters to herself.
Tachibana gets out of her chair to stare at the window. The sun was just beginning to rise. “A new day,” she remarks. “And a new headache comes with it;” She gets on her phone to call and associate in New York and instructs him that until further notice the medical futures deal with Knight Industries is hereby cancelled. While it was a large deal, the cost for Tachibana to renege was a mere drop of water in a vast ocean. Tachibana smiles; knowing full well that when Benton wakes up this will cost him dearly and possibly enrage him to do something foolish.
Tachibana pages her grandson in. While Daisuke acted as his grandmother’s assistant, he was also head of a small yet effective security force specializing in bodyguards all the way to private security; the kind that could arguably rival that of the secret service. It didn’t hurt the Daisuke did at one time work for the secret service; taking their tactics and skills; employing them to be the unseen ninja arm that Tachibana and the skulk rely upon when the situation arises.
“Yes grandmother;” Tachibana bows in respect.
“There is a storm coming dear grandson,” Tachibana looking out watching the sun continue to rise.
“A dark Knight follows,” Daisuke responds. Knowing full well that Benton will not be pleased that his Coup d'état is about to fall flat on his face.
“Yes,” Tachibana replies. “And I fear that innocent people will be caught in the violent maelstrom.”
“The Andersons?” Daisuke asks.
“And the Lawsons,” Tachibana adds. “While they are not members of the skulk, Evan Lawson’s daughter has become friends with Benton’s daughter; Frieda. Since she is Eric’s girlfriend, it stands to reason that Benton will do what he can to drive that family into the dirt.”
Daisuke nods. Knowing full well that his grandmother wants agents discreetly placed around both families. But offers up a suggestion; “While Evan Lawson is still an active member of the U.S. Military, his service is soon to end.” Daisuke continues; “Perhaps we should offer him a job as a consultant. While he might not be able to add in anything significant towards tactics except for brute force combat and weapons training. When Benton learns that he is now under our employ; It might make him back off.”
“While allowing us to focus on protecting the Anderson’s;” Tachibana finishes. “Not a bad ideal grandson. Please make the arraignments.”
Daisuke bows and leaves his grandmother’s office to enact their own counter attack to Benton Knight. Tachibana finishes watching the sun completely rise over the horizon; she turns back around to her desk and goes back to reviewing Benton’s nearly flawless take over bid. "It won't be long before Benton finds out that his plan has turned to ash," she comments to herself. "He will be furious."
