She wakes up still in the bath. "How long have I been asleep?" she wonders. Must have been awhile - the water has turned room temperature. "Better drain the tub" but before she can reach for the stopper one of her tentacles does it for her.
As the water drains away she gasps. Her tentacles seem longer and thicker, but more importantly they have turned jet black, along with the fleshy 'skirt' between them. She lifts her legs and pulls back her black skirt and is relieved to find her legs are still there and still their normal fleshy color. Her tentacles help her out of the tub and she stands up on her two feet. Her tentacles now go down to her ankles, but don't quite reach the floor. She squats down and the tentacles instinctively rise up. She closes her eyes and focuses; after a few moments she feels the strange sensation of being lifted off the ground. She looks down and confirms that she has lifted herself up using her tentacles as feet. She tries to move with them, but it is very awkward - it reminds her of trying to write with her off hand. She puts her feet down and stands again.
A tentacle grabs her towel and brings it to her human hands. She dries off, gently exploring the dark skin. Before it felt like a glove, but now it feels more real. She might be able to go around outside with a large dress, but any kind of pants are permanently out of the question.
After drying off she walks back into the bedroom and sits down on the bed. She remembers Ursula, the octopus woman from The Little Mermaid. Didn't everyone hate Ursula? She was a real bitch though. "I'm not a freak, I'm not a freak..." she mutters to herself. Her husband didn't care that she was some kind of octopus woman. She could use his reassurance though.
