Tad got off the bus and walked into school the next morning after the eventful weekend he'd had. As he walked in, the normally lively halls filled with the sound of people talking about things they'd done and other things like that was eerily quiet. There were people in the halls talking with their friends or grabbing stuff out of their lockers, but everyone seemed to be tense and worried.
As Tad walked over to his locker, he did the combination on his lock, opening the door. He grabbed some of the text books he'd need for the day and put them in his backpack; the ones that wouldn't fit he carried. As he finished up, he overheard a passing conversation.
"A tail? He sprouted a tail when he was running away from the police? How stupid can you be to do that!"
"I know. He almost exposed weres everywhere. Luckily, the police thinks that it's just part of a costume, and that's what the media believes as well. We're lucky that there hasn't been too much looking into it. "
I can't imagine what would happen if anyone from outside of here found out about weres."
Tad closed his locker. "So that's what everyone's on edge about," he thought to himself as he walked to class.
