As Amanda Knight sat down in her vechile to head to the hospital, she had to steady herself a moment. Between the nips of alcohol to 'steady her nerves' and the scene just now, she was not entirely sure she was in the best state to drive but it was only a quick jaunt to the hospital. It should be fine. She started the car and began her drive.
Not far from the hospital, around a fairly sharp curve, she slowed down in front of a stop sign when a quick, brisk and polite knock on the opposite window drew her attention. It appeared to be a human of average build and she couldn't immedately place him. She rolled down the window with a sigh, not in much of a mood to deal with strangers, "Yes? Can I help you?"
The young man smiled, "No. But I may be able to help you. Will you hear me out a moment? May I sit?"
Amanda thought for a moment before replying, "Alright. But please, make this quick. I am in a hurry."
The young man got into the passenger's seat, "You can head on up to the hospital, I can talk to you about why I am here on the way. I can walk from there as easily as here."
Amanda gripped the wheel a little but she was far too tired and upset to argue and continued making the drive to the hospital, replying coolly, "Then what exactly is it you want? Who are you?"
The young man smiles, "Names are not really important. I'm not anyone important but I may be able to help you. If you will accept that help. You're husband issues have not escaped notice. I've been reviewing the records and I believe an important aspect of the situation has been ignored. You're husband's anger and fury aside, his intense mood swings from happy to pissed to depressed... After speaking with the household staff descretely, I believe your husband may be suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder. BPD would explain many of his actions and his inability to control his emotional state. There have been links done by many were-allied doctors into BPD and it's shown as a precurser to a form of dementia that results in were-kind going ... feral. If Benton Knight doesn't get help, there is a 86% chance that he will succumb and become a feral were."
Amanda stared at the young man for a long moment, dumbstruck but the more she thought about it, the more sense it made. However, just the idea of losing not just her standing but her husband who despite everything she truly loved... It was more than she could process.
Amanda slowly pulls the side of the road, looking down, "No. I can't... I can't believe it go that far. Benton..." She frowned and looked at the young man sharply, "What proof do you have of this? You won't even tell me your name!"
The young man gets out of the car and leans down back in the window to look at Amanda Knight, "That's because I have no name. Don't you know? Moonlake's a strange place. Lots of dreams. Next time don't drink and drive...But if you don't believe me Amanda... ask the Doctors about Benton's symptoms when you wake up. They'll tell you the same thing. Those woods out there... They hide many secrets. Many lost souls. Don't add your family's to them. You can still save them. It's not yet too late. Remember what your grandfather told you that one time when you went fishing with them? You asked him why your fishing rod broke and his didn't. He told you it was because the stiff stick you used was proud and stiff. But a cane reed like his his could bend. It's time to bend, or you will break, Amanda. I'll be seeing you...." Just before he disappeared she heard the whispered word 'grandmother'.
Amanda groaned as she started to come around to the sound of sirens...and the familiar feeling of her body working hard to regenerate after a series of serious injuries... "Ben.....ton....." She barely got the words out before she blacked out again.
