Jared thought the day had started off pretty ok, but as he looks around him he rethinks that assessment. People of all ages, genders, ethnic backgrounds, and social status were running for their lives. They flew in a panic hurry carelessly to the dangers they caused in there for rapid retreat . Barreling over each other in a flurry to panic without reservation to the damage they caused. The reason? Why it's the massive hord of dogs running this way. Jared thinks back for a moment, how did this start?
-this is a line break-
Jared was tired, he had finished swim practice late last night and still had several miles to run this morning. Stretching his arms out he looked around, his kitchen was nice and homey, especially now with his parents out of town for the weekend. Standing from his spot at the table he made his way towards the living room, before sitting down in the center stationed recliner.
"I wonder what's going on with the world?" Jared asked aloud, as he postponed his run for turning on the TV.
The channel flickered on before showing a women in a fine blouse reading from a deck of papers in her hand. "Now in other news we have had an increasingly strange number of disappearances over the last few weeks. Entire families have vanished over night, leaving behind little evidence to reveal what had occurred." The screen darkened as Jared stood up, already forgetting what he had just watched.
Now Jared only had one thought on his mind.
'I skipped my run, but I can't afford to miss practice.' Jared rushed his clothes on already entering the mindset he had for his competition swim club.
Grabbing his bright red speedo, and then some over clothes he made his way to his car before driving down to the pool. As he was on the rod he watched as several people packed their cars, 'Is there some big vacation coming up?' He wondered as he saw a large number of vehicles leaving town.
Those thoughts left his mind as he approached the pool, already seeing many of his friends cars parked he rushed into his spot. After which he burst from the car and ran to the locker rooms, finding them deserted he quickly striped his clothes off before pulling on his form fitting speedo, which made his meat bulge ever so slightly.
Grabbing his goggles he rushed out of the locker room, only to run face first into his coach, Mr. Matthew. His coach was a beast of a man, muscles bulged from his body, and Jared was fairly sure that Mr. Matthew had never been a swimmer before.
"Colaski! Why are you late, practice started fifteen minutes ago?" The coach didn't yell, but the slightly raised voices already had Jared mentally growing. Knowing that he would be swimming punishment laps for his tardiness.
Making sure his tall form wasn't smacking into the coach, and somehow making it seem like he was being rebellious, Jared made his posture as submissive as possible before speaking. "Sorry coach the traffic on the way here was horrific, I didn't expect so many people to be leaving town." Jared was honest about the surprise of people leaving, but little else of that statement was true.
Mr. Matthew scratched his hairy face, which now that Jared thought about it seemed haired today that it was yesterday, but he shrugged it off thinking it was normal for older man to have quick facial hair growth. "Yeah I can understand what you mean, people leaving town in droves all over a stupid rumor." The coach was faced with a stumped expression, Jared didn't know about any rumor.
"Hey coach if you don't mind me asking what was the rumor, if it's alright with you of course?" Jared was curious, he understood that people sometimes didn't always think with their head, but this had to be serious to have such a reaction.
The coach scratched once more at his face, unaware that it was slowly getting thicker in density of hair. "It's nothing Jared, just some made up story about an entire town vanishing and only dogs being found is all." The coached started to really scratch at his face, and his nose started to darken.
'How strange, but whatever not my problem.' Jared turned and left heading out to the pool deck. Never notching that the coach Matthews never followed him out of the locker room.
Once on deck Jared decided.
