Jean Talbot was an eighteen year old were-lioness that graduated high school back in June. She enrolled in Moon lake’s college on a scholarship program; planning on majoring in law. Jean wanted to be lawyer; and her father Leon didn’t object, but he did ask her to help out with his family’s auto restore work, before classes began and in between semester breaks. Jean never argued with that condition; she always enjoyed spending time with her father on his projects, more so when she could play pranks on her older brother Peter.
As Jean entered her home, she saw her father Leon Talbot in the kitchen reading an odd piece of paper. Leon Talbot was the king of the were-lion pride in Moon Lake; he was also the were-lion representative of the elder council. A council he just recently came back from after witnessing Lance Knight’s swearing in ceremony. He notices Jean arriving and beckons her to come over.
“Did you have a fun time yesterday with Liv?” Leon knows his daughter is bi-sexual and has accepted that fact. As long as she takes her were-birth control pills when fooling with a male were, Leon is content to live and live.
“Well, Liv was fun as usual;” Jean sitting down at the table. “But it was the werewolf she had for company as well. Oooh he was a looker.”
Leon looks up from the odd looking document, “a werewolf you say? Anyone we know of?”
“Not sure,” Jean looking at the various documents on the table; “what is all this on the table?”
“Work orders and invoices that your brother will be going over once he gets here,” Leon answers; “but getting back to the previous question.”
“Oh yeah,” Jean continues; “The werewolf is sixteen and goes to Moon Lake high. His name is Nate Anderson.”
“Anderson?” Leon putting down the document to look at Jean; ”older brother of Eric Anderson?”
“Yes,” Jean answering; “so you know his family?”
“Only through the papers,” Leon comments; “Eric was assaulted by Julie Stovall during lunch last Tuesday. Frieda Knight was sitting next to him and was also attacked. Now Julie is facing assault charges.”
“Wow,” Jean looks on in shock; “Nate never mentioned that when we were-”
“Please stop Jean,” Leon smirks; “I don’t need details. Suffice to say the Elder council knows more in regards to the situation. Information the papers have yet to get wind of.”
“And the funny looking document you are reading,” Jean points at; “Does that have anything to do with it?”
“No,” Leon sighs; “This is something else. Suffice to say I cannot tell you. At least not until you agree to take over once I decide to step down.”
“Dad, you know I can’t give you an answer right know. I graduated high school, I’m starting classes at Moon Lake college in January. And if I recall, you are nagging me to start a family,” Jean points out; “You can’t just dump wanting grandkids on me, when you know I’m not ready for that just yet.”
Leon chuckles, “that doesn’t mean I’m not going to keep bringing it up.”
“Well I don’t see you badgering Peter about giving you grandkids,” Jean looking at her father.
“Point taken,” Leon accepting defeat; “I’ll lay off on it for now. But come I want to show you something.”
Leon gets up taking the elder council document with him. Leading jean to the garage he turns on the light to reveal a car with a cover over it. Smiling he pulls the cover off to reveal his next father/daughter project.
Jean’s eyes light up in surprise; “Is that what I think it is?”
Leon smiles, “A nineteen sixty two Shelby Cobra CSX two thousand;” Leon continues; “despite the condition of the interior, the body is original as well as the engine. It’s mechanically sound, it just needs a bit of work.”
Jean just walks around the car feeling the curves of the diamond in the rough; “Where did you find this?”
“In a barn,” Leon grins; “estate sale in Montana. I had it shipped up here just last night.”
“Must have been expensive;” Jean looking at her father.
“Yes but it was worth it,” Leon grins even further; “More so that once we are done restoring it, you’re the one who gets to drive it.”
Jean squeals with joy and hugs her father, “Thank you thank you thank you.”
“Consider it a late graduation present,” Leon smiles peeling his daughter off of him and watching her jump into the ripped up dirty seat pretending to drive; “But first we got to restore it.”
Leon heads back into the kitchen to see Peter pouring himself a cup of coffee. With hearing Jean's shout of joy, Peter knew that their father just showed her the surprise in the garage. Peter knew it was not going to be cheap to fix up; but Leon didn’t care. Their father could never resist the chance to spoil his only daughter.
“So I take it,” Peter sipping his coffee; “Jean approves of her present?”
“That’s correct son,” Leon answers.
“And all you got for me was invoices haphazardly strew on the kitchen table,” Peter mocks.
“And a project,” Leon sitting back down; “It’s a replacement job, but the client pays well.”
“What’s the project?” Peter looking through and organizing the invoices.
“Andrew Curry’s Rolls-Royce Phantom,” Leon Answers; “it needs a new engine and transmission. Since it’s a recent model, parts should be easy to come by.”
“I’ll take a look at it once I’m done with these invoices,” Peter getting up ton head to the shop. "Try not to break the bank restoring the Shelby."
"No promises there son," Leon chuckles as he heads back to the garage where Jean and the Shelby are at.
