Off in the distance Jake heard the rumbling of the bus. He got up, put his board under his arm, and walked out the door to wait at the designated stop - right in front of his house. It had never stopped there before, but Jake had Maker assign this extra stop as if the bus had always stopped there.
The sexy skater boy stood patiently while the bus pulled to the curb. Waiting for the door to open, the driver looked at him from his seat, his contempt was evident and obvious. Jake just gave him an arrogant cool look in return, and parked his arse in a seat behind a couple of boys. Jake soon relaxed into the bus seat, and appearing to drift off, started to listen into the conversation of the boys in front of him.
The two boys looked vaguely similar, probably about 8th or 9th grade, one was Hispanic, and one had red hair and pale skin, both had t-shirts with clever sayings on them... you know, like "I do my own stunts" or "Can't do homework, I'm playing video games". They also both had on department store jeans and anonymous looking tennis shoes.
Jake shifted to bring out his iPhone, his fingers rapidly typed out some last-minute instructions, only settling back when he had finished.
