"What could he be thinking?" Dustin thought, as he stood up. He felt the rush of adrenaline in his body as he looked at the situation developing before him. He looks to see werewolf Ty about to make an attack at the helpless, terrified Christian. All the while, Janet is looking onward at the situation with both terror and puzzlement.
As Ty lunges, Dustin, almost as if by reflex, grabs a nearby pencil and jumps in Ty's direction.
This small period of activity seemed to happen in a blur. It ended with Dustin's pencil jabbed into Ty's head and a deer crouching against the wall, groaning in pain as it suffers from considerable wounds.
Janet stares in continuing puzzlement at the deer as she starts to connect Christian's transformation and the presence of that deer.
Dustin's attack on Ty nearly knocks him out. His mental control over the matter expires as his werewolf form starts to revert. His muzzle starts to pull closer to his face, as his eyes gain a mixture of his human eyes and his amber blue eyes. The rest of his body maintains its mostly-wolven shape. He falls into a state of unconsciousness.
The deer reverts to its normal form. As the changes are taking place, Janet's eyes widen in shock. When the transformation is complete, a wounded, somewhat-bloody Christian lies in the deer's place. His eyes close and he completely collapses to the ground. Janet runs over to Christian, sobbing, and takes Christian's hand.
Ty uses a great deal of strength to open his eyes -- squinting -- and look in the direction of Christian and Janet. Janet is shaking Christian. Her tone becomes increasingly more and more worried.
"Christian... Christian... Christian! Can you hear me? Christian?!"
Christian's eyes slowly open and he smiles. He blinks. "I'm okay."
"Ahhh," Janet sighs as she wraps her arms around Christian and holds him tight, even with the bit of blood on him.
Ty turns his head to see Dustin. Dustin looks disgusted and somewhat angry. He stands up, dropping the somewhat-bloody pencil on the ground, and turns his back to Ty, who is still a partial werewolf on the ground.
Ty looks over to Janet, who is still hugging Christian close -- not having a care in the world for who was responsible for the damage or what would happen next, but only caring that Christian was OK.
Ty's eyes roll over to his furry claw, which he lifts up to look at.
His eyes then roll down to a corner as his eyes flutter somewhat, in shame.
