"Ugh, remind me why we came here again?"
"It's kind of a local landmark, Jen. It only comes around once every two years, and it's apparently run by real gypsies. That's a real rarity nowadays."
"It's run by stinky gypsies. Great, that just makes it even worse. I can't believe Mrs. Bradner made us go to this for extra-credit. Stupid smelly gypsies."
"Hey, speak for yourself, I actually wanted to go to the circus."
"What are you, five? Honestly, I can't believe I'm stuck with you until 8."
Bridgett sighed. It wasn't her idea to get stuck with the meanest girl in her class. Unfortunately, Jen had wrecked her car after a night of drinking, so she was stuck with Bridge as her chaperone. She was surprised Jen actually went to the circus. She was forcing Bridge to write her report on the circus, so there wasn't much reason for Jen to be there. She had only carpooled with Bridgette in the first place because Jen's mom watched them leave. Bridge was getting tired of being her punching bag, but every time she tried to object...
"You better make my report good, you hear me? I mean at least four pages. We wouldn't want the world finding out about that photo, now would we?"
That damn photo. Back in freshman year, Bridgett, eager to be popular, got to attend one of the drinking parties. She couldn't remember the details, but when she woke up, Jen showed Bridge a picture of Bridgett in a... provocative position. Ever since then, Jen had been blackmailing her with it. Thankfully, the bitch hadn't posted it online, but she threatened to do so every time things didn't go her way. Bridge couldn't afford for it to leak, so she had to do as Jen said. It was a nightmare. At least she only had 9 more months to go before she finally graduated high school. College couldn't come soon enough. Bridge was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice Mesmero was staring right at her. He had found his target.
