Nate Anderson and his boyfriend Alex Ramsey had a lovely walk around the shores of Moon Lake.
On foot and in human form, the werewolves' journey took a good four hours, for they could only walk so far before having to turn around and head back, since neither of them had a boat or wanted to swim to the other side and resume circling the body of water from which the town they lived in took its name.
What amazed Nate the most, being relatively new to Moon Lake, was that he and Alex were able to walk side by side holding hands during their journey and no one even batted an eye or looked at them funny.
Not that any of that would of happened if Nate had a boyfriend and was still living in Minnesota, but then again he couldn't say with absolute certainty that they wouldn't have crossed paths with some jerk who might have wanted to express an opinion concerning an openly gay couple showing signs of affection for each other, even as platonic as Nate and Alex were doing so right now.
"You've been strangely silent. Everything all right?" asked Alex, as they started to near their campsite again.
"Truthfully? I don't want this moment to end," admitted Nate, as he put his arm around Alex. "This whole weekend with you has just been so perfect."
"I know Stud," agreed his boyfriend, while using his pet nickname for Nate. "Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, but we will definitely be doing this again," he promised.
"When?" asked Nate eagerly.
"Camping? Probably not till next spring. Despite this belated Indian Summer we've been having, fall and winter will come eventually and the campground will close for the season."
"Bummer. We can't squeeze in another weekend before then?"
"We'll see," promised Alex, knowing that he planned to bring Nate back to the shoreline Tuesday night for a date so they could enjoy the full moon rise over the lake. "Right now, we do have to break camp and pack up so we can head home and get ready for school tomorrow."
"Yeah, I suppose," said Nate, kissing Alex. Then he smiled and said, "Race you!" before taking off as fast as he could run back to the tent they shared.
"Why you..." Alex said jokingly, chasing after his boyfriend.
Alex Ramsey could only smile as Nate stood in front of their tent, smiling as he took off his shirt before ducking inside.
As he reached their campsite, Alex raced around the tent just long enough to make sure all the window flaps were closed, before entering the tent and sealing it shut behind him.
As long as they stayed inside and didn't start howling aloud in pleasure, the lovers should be all right for a quickie.
The "quickie" took much longer than either of them thought it would, but neither Alex or Nate complained.
However it was almost sunset as, with everything picked up and packed, they broke camp and headed for home in Alex's car.
