Spencer was the first to respond on the Skype channel; both seeing each other in their fursonas, they can’t help but grin.
“Is Frieda not home yet,” Spencer asking.
“She had to talk with her uncle first,” Eric answering; “Mom and I dropped her off at her uncle’s place then waited for him to show up.”
“You too had fun without me then,” Spencer pouting.
“Well you and I did have fun a couple times without Frieda first,” Eric laughing.
Just then Frieda’s pop online in her were-panther fursona.
“Sorry for the delay,” Frieda responding; “just got home. Father and Uncle Lance are talking.”
“I have something I would like to ask,” Spencer seeing Frieda on her monitor; “did either of you receive an email from Brian Walker earlier today?”
“One moment;” Both Eric and Frieda checking their emails.
“Yes,” I have one here;” Eric reading it.
“Same here,” Frieda answering;” He wants to meet us before school starts tomorrow.”
“Isn’t Brian the were-otter you caught Julie with, Eric;” Spencer asking.
“The same,” Eric answers; “Frieda and I talked to him during freshman lunch on Friday. Apparently Julie sent some anonymous emails that got him in trouble. Reading this email Brian sent; it looks like Julie is trying a new tactic, but he is unsure what it could be.”
“So you want to talk to him tomorrow then Eric,” Frieda asking.
“While I know Julie can't go anything to us,” Eric answering; “it couldn’t hurt to hear what got Brian’s fur up.”
“Speaking of strange,” Frieda looking on her computer; “I got some odd friend requests directed to my social media account.”
“Same here,” Spencer looking as well; “do either of you know of Mandy Yin or Eugene Custom?”
“No,” Frieda answering; “but I have those same people trying to friend request me.”
“Same here,” Eric looking; “I wonder if this is Julie trying to see what we have set private?”
“Whether it’s her or not,” Spencer responding while deleting the requests; “I’m not taking the chance.”
“Agreed;” Both Eric and Frieda speak in unison as they to delete the friend requests.
“Frieda,” Eric speaking up; “do you know if it’s common for your father to hand out blank cheques?”
“No,” Frieda looking confused; “why are you asking?”
“Because Tachibana is in my parent’s kitchen talking,” Eric responding; “I heard her hand my father a cheque that your father signed earlier today after we left Tachibana’s estate. It was a blank cheque and your father asked her to write in an amount that she felt would be fair. From what I overheard; Tachibana wrote in two million dollars.”
“Woah,” Spencer shouts; “Benton’s way of settling before lawyers get involved?”
“I honestly have no words for that,” Frieda looking shocked; “I can ask my father tomorrow, but he might freak over the sum and try to cancel the cheque.”
“So you’re not going to ask your father then;” Spencer getting involved.
“Oh I’ll ask him,” Frieda answering; “I’ll just omit the amount that Tachibana wrote in.”
“Well that’s all I have for last minute surprises,” Eric states; ”Anyone else?”
“Mom and dad had a talk earlier today,” Spencer speaking; “They were discussing giving me a brother or a sister.”
“Did that explain why you fainted earlier today,” Eric asking.
“Yeah,” Spencer responding; “it was overwhelming what with the dreams we had of our future and finding out about our bond.”
“Congratulations then,” Frieda smiling; “do you know when they are going to try?”
“As soon as the swimmers Eric’s father put in my mother are all gone from their fun on Friday;“ Spencer grins; “at the earliest. I guess I’ll be sleeping over at your place Frieda or Eric’s when they do decide.”
“Are you hoping for a brother or a sister,” Eric smiling.
“Either or,” Spencer looking thoughtful; “I’m not picky.”
“So any other news then,” Eric asking
“I have some,” Frieda speaking up; “most of it I can’t reveal due to the fact that it is elder council business. But my uncle is going to get himself tested for bi-polar disorder. He also asked me to get tested as well. Apparently the condition could run in the family but can skip generations.”
“You’re not bi-polar,” Eric flatly states; “I don’t know why I know. Perhaps it’s the bond we all share. But in my heart I know you are not sick like your father.”
“I agree as well,” Spencer looking pensive; “I can’t explain it, but I can just feel it. It was like this morning when you two were about to go shopping. I knew where you were and something compelled me to be with you two.”
“That’s reassuring to hear,” Frieda responding; “but I don’t think my uncle or my father, if he agrees to me being tested will accept a feeling from the heart. Think of me getting tested as piece of mind for them.”
“Fair enough,” Eric answering; “But I just know you’re not bi-polar.” Eric looks at the time to see that their chat is running late; “I think we should get to bed, we could always pick this up tomorrow before school. Hopefully before we talk with Brian Walker.”
Both Frieda and Spencer nod as the sign off. Eric getting up to stretch; his feline like tail swaying as he walks to turn off the light switch; with his cat like eyes, Eric was able to see his bed easily as if it was still day time. Lying down over the covers; his white coat of fur keeping him warm, Eric quickly drifts off to sleep softly purring as he can feel both Frieda and Spencer safe in their homes drift off to sleep as well.
