Josh sat on his bed thinking about what he had just heard from the doctor. He had the clown gene! He didn't understand how he had gotten it but he wasn't that bothered about it. He liked clowns themselves but he didn't know if he was the most thrilled if he was going to become one. So he just decided to go to bed and hope for the best. Besides, he had school to go to tomorrow.
The next day josh woke up and could tell he felt a bit different. He looked in his mirror and the he saw himself but with pure white skin. Josh nearly jumped out of it, but the calmed down and then remembered he had the clown gene. He was a bit relieved because he did want to be a whiteface clown, so he went down to breakfast, he got some comfort and sympathy from his family but he didn't mind, he was actually a little excited about this. Having this change occurring to him was something the made him a bit excited.
There were a number of people at school who had. Some were just people who had only slightly different colored skin, others were people who looked nothing like their former selves, a complete transformation in body, hair, and behavior. Josh thought that if he was going to have the clown gene he should go all out. But still look like himself.
When Josh got to school, people immediately noticed his skin but they moved on as if nothing were different. People who already had the gene smiled a bit at it because it made them feel a bit less alone.
