“So what is it you wanted to warn us about,” Eric the first to start speaking as Brian Walker approached them.
“Be wary with e-mails you receive,” Brian commenting; “I’m certain Julie trying to impersonate my dead beat dad.”
“Dead beat dad,” Spencer looking at Brian suspiciously. Despite not knowing him personally; she was leery of the were-otter for he was the one that Eric caught in between Julie Stovall’s legs.
Brian sighs, “Before I started elementary school, my father ran off with a hussy from the local supermarket. Before he left, he cleaned out the savings accounts and left my mom with a mountain of debt; debt that she is only just managing with her two jobs.”
“Why tell us this,” Eric asking.
“Because I was stupid enough to tell Julie,” Brian shaking his head and looking disgusted with himself; “and now she is trying to use that to mess with me.”
“Okay,” Frieda speaking up; “how does that affect us?”
“Spencer,” Brian answering; “while I’m certain that you and Julie never met and swapped stories per say.” Looking at Eric and Frieda, “since you two were at one time friends with Julie, you didn’t happen to tell her anything she might use against you in some fashion?”
Eric was the first to answer; “nothing that isn’t already public knowledge or can be found online. Where my family once lived, what my parents do for a living. Basic stuff like that.”
Frieda was silent; trying to remember the times that she and Julie where together, Frieda’s heart sank. Both Eric and Spencer immediately pick up on Frieda’s discomfort.
“You told Julie something didn’t you,” Spencer asking.
“Yes,” Frieda is looking ashamed; Frieda remembering the time of her first transformation and the were-panther that was kind and gentle to her. Frieda knew she would have to tell Eric and Spencer about him eventually. “I told her the were-panther that helped me during my first transformation. Eric, Spencer I’ll talk to you about him later. I just don’t want to talk about it now.”
“Have you been in touch with this person,” Brian asking.
“No,” Frieda answering.
“Good then,” Brian responding; “any email you receive from him should not be opened or read. Delete it and if you can, block the email address.”
Brian was about to continue when he, Eric, Spencer and Frieda turn their heads to hear Nate shouting.
“As the Principal here is my witness, if you ever try to contact me again or bother any member of my family; I will seek legal action against you.”
The four see a woman rush off clearly distraught. With her scent travelling down wind, Eric was able to pick up that it was Kenya Adaeze.
“I wonder what possessed her to try and talk to my brother again,” Eric remarking; “especially since he clearly broke it off with her.”
Before anyone could answer the sound of the bell rings signaling that classes are about to start. With Eric, Frieda and Spencer heading inside; Brian was standing outside wondering what to do. Alyssa Cooper asking him to declare Martin Stovall legally dead and expecting and answer from him after school; a request from her for all the help she has done so far in establishing a future career path as a gigolo. While the money would go a long way to help out his mother, Brian was for the first time having second thoughts.
Brian knew if he told anyone about what Alyssa was planning for him, he would be in serious trouble; looking at his phone, he still has the text that Alyssa sent him Saturday evening
‘Meet at the lake 8am tomorrow. A.C’
Brian did meet Alyssa as instructed and after informing her that he was self-taught in computer hacking and researching on how to have someone declared legally dead; she asked him to do that on Martin Stovall. While reluctant to do it; Brian did agree to think about her request and give her an answer as they met up after school today.
Seeing the sheriff pull up to the school; Brian shakes his head.
“Fuck it all,” He says to himself; “I need to tell someone.” Walking towards the sheriff as he heads into the school office; Brian follows suit. As he heads inside he can hear John Shafer being paged to the office. Sighing he coughs to get the Sheriff’s attention.
“Brian Walker,” Principal Andrews noticing the teenager; “shouldn’t you be in class?”
“I need to talk to the sheriff sir,” Brian looking defeated; “It’s about his cousin Alyssa.”
