"No!" Brian moved between Tye and the larger teen, bewildered and feeling a mix of anger and fear at Tye. "He came here to see about helping Mike!"
Tye scowled. "Get out of the way, piss-ant, before you join him on four hooves. Or maybe you'd like to be a mare so Mike can fuck you pregnant?"
Dar pulled Brian against his chest and wrapped his arms across the elf to hold him in place. "Stay close to me, friend. I can protect you from this charlatan."
The sudden move started Tye, who frowned and said "What's a charlatan?".
"A fake. A fraud." Dar regarded the angry teen calmly. "You are no wizard. It sounds like you do have abilities, but Llandros is far more power. And he does not abuse it as you do."
"A fake!?" Tye turned red, his face flushed with anger. "I created you and this entire world!"
"Really?" Dar kept his hold on Brian. "So you can do anything. And you choose to screw around with people who thought you were a friend?"
"Forget being a draft horse!" Tye gestured angrily at Dar. "You are a slug!"
Dar waited a second, then said "Do I look like you now?"
From the shocked expression on Tye's face. Brian was pretty sure that Dar was supposed to have changed. Tye gestured a few more times, obviously concentrating and getting angrier each time nothing happened. Finally he glared at Brian and said "Fine! You can kill him for me, lion!"
Brian started to protest, only to feel Dar's arms tighten around him. He was relieved when he did not sprout fangs and claws, but the look on Tye's face was terrifying. Dar whispered in his ear "We need to get out of here. Stay still."
"Bake 'em, Joe!" Tye spun to look at the dragon. "Use that flame breath of yours."
Joe looked startled. "Brian's in the way!" Then he blinked and something changed in his eyes. He started to draw in a breath, but then Dar tightened his grip on Brian to the point it was hard to breathe, and muttered a sound that Brian did not understand. There was a sudden wrenching, and then they were suddenly in a small wooden room with leather straps and saddles hanging from pegs on the wall.
Dar sighed and opened the crude wooden door to reveal a large stable. "Come on. I need tot ell Llandros about your buddies. Before that would-be wizard figures out what is going on. We need to stay in contact so my protection carries over."
Brian let himself be pulled along, confused. "Pro-protection?"
"Yeah. Your wizard would have turned yo into a lion to maul me to death. Holding you against me put the same protection that kept him from turning me into a horse on you. We need to maintain contact to keep it going."
Dar led him quickly out of the stable and over to a large, if still crude building beside it. He knocked at the door. "Master Llandros? We have company here and probably some on the way."
The door opened, and Brian was surprised to see....
