Samantha sighed and stretched as she made her way out of city hall. There was plenty that they'd have to do to stay on top of this latest event, but she did feel confident in Moon Lake being able to keep its secrecy. The footage did clearly show Ulysses' tail, but the media so far seemed to buy what Agent Green claimed it was, a costume piece. If that was all it was, than things might just blow over quickly and things in Moon Lake would go back to normal, or at least as normal as a town where most of the residents can turn into animal-like creatures at will can be.
"Never thought we'd get a scenario where the FBI would be a potential friend in all of this," Samantha mused to herself as she thought over the talk she'd had with Agent Green after Lionel Ulysses was killed.
She made her way to her car and was quick to check her cellphone before getting into the vehicle. She found one message from Ben and found that he was having dinner with Kenya's Aunt and Uncle. She sent a reply text assuring him that that was fine so long as he remembered to be home by his curfew time and then moved to call Frances. She did get a quick answer.
"Hey, hun," Frances answered her, "things going well?"
"As well as can be, all things considered," Samantha replied, "how is Martha doing?"
"She's doing fine, and largely relieved that both her sons came came home confident that things will be fine," Frances answered, "in fact they invited us to dinner."
"I see..." Samantha said slowly.
"And since Ben has decoded to have dinner with Kenya and her family, I have accepted the dinner invitation," Frances continued.
Samantha blinked at the comment and was quiet for a moment. After a few moments, but did speak after a moment. She remembered the faint whiff of sex she'd gotten that morning that drifted down that morning and she'd remembered seeing two werefoxes leave the Anderson home as well. Both werefoxes carried that smell, but the distance was great enough and the smell faint enough that all Samantha could tell was that they had had sex. She could not tell tell anything more than that. After a few moments she asked as quietly as she could.
"Frances...this may not be our business, but did can you tell if William has had sex with any female other than Martha since his transformation into a were?"
"Yes, yes, I can tell, and no, William has not had sex with anyone besides Martha," Frances answered, "And Martha has had Sex with with women besides William and recently, she has also added women besides us."
Samantha didn't answer and after a moment, Frances continued.
"And I would think that Martha has also Martha has also added a vixen to her lovers," Frances added, "Though I cannot say precisely who."
Samantha gave a slow sigh. She listed quietly to Frances as she spoke. Frances answer to Samantha's question had been quiet and assured assured that things had ended quietly. Hers and Frances's new lover had not her heart broken. That Moon Lake's secret had be preserved.
"That is good to hear," Samantha said in response.
"Yes," Frances said with a smile, "Will you be here soon?"
"Yes, yes I will," Frances answered, "How long will it take you you to arrive for dinner?"
"Not to long," Samantha answered as she turned the key to start her car and listening to her car's engine purring to life, "I'm just leaving city hall now."
"We're waiting for you," Frances purred over the line, "and then gave a few sniffs, "it smells like Martha is working on putting together what sells like ,meatloaf."
"Yum," was Samantha's only reply.
