You step off the bus, glancing up at the gloomy gray sky. You know it's going to rain today. You glumly trudge your way through the front doors and down the hall towards your 1st period US History class. When you enter, you realize, with horror, that you're ten minutes late to class somehow. The teacher glares at you, as your entrance has interrupted a speech he was making. He chides you for being late and asks you to stay a few minutes after class.
In consequence, you're late for your next class because you were held back in your first class. You curse the system as you sit down at your desk in your second period class (Biology), having to stay late for that one as well. At least you won't be late for anything, third period at your school is a free one.
After waiting out your punishment, you race to the bathroom, having to have gone for a few hours. After reliving yourself, you race out of the bathroom blindly, intending to run off and find your friends before free period is over. But you're in such a haste you accidentally smack into a girl walking down the hall opposite of you. You both groan as you both drop to the floor. You quickly recover and jump to your feet, helping the girl up. That's when you notice how odd she looks.
She's about seventeen, with long, flowing brown hair. She's dressed in black flats and a wallowing, sinew black dress that reaches her ankles. She's also wearing a black choker necklace. Her eyes have back eyeshadow on them, and her lips are painted a plum color. "Thanks for helping me up." She says in a deep, smoky voice. Distracted by how beautiful she is, you can barely babble out a "You're welcome". She smiles and grabs your collar, pulling you close. "Listen, it was my fault. Let me make up for it." She says. She doves you back and you watch, bewildered, as she pulls out a notepad and pen from some hidden pocket in her dress. She scribbles something down and pushes it to your chest, which you grasp with your hands. Then she smiles and continues down the hallway.
Looking after her, you glance down at the paper and are puzzled to see an address written on it. Hmm...Poe road. That's only a few miles from your house. You could get there in eight or nine minutes, tops, from your house. Something about the whole ordeal seemed kind of suspicious, but you push that into the back of your mind and decide to pay the mysterious girl a visit.
That night, you make up a story to your parents about having to go to the store to get school supplies. They buy your story and you pull out of the driveway. But instead of turning left, towards town, you turn right, in the direction of Poe road, where the girl's house apparently lives. When you arrive, it is quite dark, but you can still see her house, which you stare at in disbelief. According to the address, the gel lives in a huge, gothic-looking mansion with many floors, chimneys, windows, and a large grounds. The gate you stare through from your car is rusty and covered in cobwebs.
The gate ominously creaks open, as if inviting you in. Despite what all the horror movies say, you pull through the gate and begin driving towards the housel. You get there in a few minutes. You park your car in the driveway and walk across the flagstone steps towards the huge, polished wooden front door. You are slightly unnerved by the glowing moon and stars, the silence of the misty night, and the door's knockers that look like wolf heads with rings in their mouths. You reach up and rap the rings against the door a few times before stepping back.
Soon, the door creaks open, revealing a dark foyer and who has greeted you...
