You firmly grab the gold chalice with both hands and slowly bring it up to your lips. The blood red liquid smelled strange but not unpleasant, with i t reminding you of dark chocolate and brimstone.
You didn't know what exactly the liquid was but you decide that you should trust your instincts and they were telling you to take a chance and drink it. You take one last breath before you decide to drink all of the liquid in two huge gulps.
To say it tasted divine was a massive underestimation. It was more than divine it was absolutely perfect. The liquid flowed down your mouth like sweet honey nectar and it tasted as if it was made by the God of cooking.. You committed yourself to remembering the taste, to remember every detail for the rest of your life no matter how long or short it will be.
In the future, during your hardest times you will remember how the nectar tasted and smile, no matter how desperate the situation was.
Then the bliss you were in disappeared. The altar evaporated into nothingness, the chalice in your hand was gone and you slowly fell unconscious. It's that moment when the transformation started.
