June smiled. "We are close to the hotel now, but I thought you might be interested in some special sites that are popular with the local inhabitants. We don't usually share, but you look like such a nice family, and I think you might appreciate some of them."
John looked around. "What kind of things are here?" He only saw trees and a clear pond, though there were faint sounds coming from other areas. You could just make out winding paths among the thick, impressive trees.
"Each path leads to a different group." June pointed to the closest. "That one, for example, leads to a herd of Minotaurs that live in the caverns under the resort." Derrick immediately showed interest in that one. "There are some wonderful groves rumored to have Apples of Youth down that one." The parents grinned at each other and John said "That sure sounds good."
"Fauns and satyrs often cavort in a grassy clearing down the path there." Derrick also checked that trail out. "The trail there leads to a Temple of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. And of course, there are several smaller groves where Dryads and Nymphs play." June grinned as she gestured to the different paths. "Each trail is well marked and short - you cannot get lost. You can explore any of them easily, and it is all quite safe."
John checked his watch. "We have plenty of time. Explore whatever you want to and meet back here in, say, two hours?"
