It was later that same day when a man in a fine business suit and a worried looking woman in their 40's knocked on Jacks door.
“Yes?” Jack said. The man handed Jack the pants and the t-shirt.
“I gather that these belong to you?” Jack took them.
“Yes. Are you Oliver's parents?” The man nodded.
“Thank you for assisting our son. Here is some money for your trouble.” He handed Jack a hundred dollar bill. Jacks first instinct was to say that there was no need to pay him for something so little, but his greed quickly nudged him in the side and graciously excepted the money. A hundred dollars wasn't something to just throw away. Not for a student anyway.
“Thank you very much. Most generous of you. I trust that Oliver is fine?”
“Yes. Now, we would appreciate your discretion in this matter. You understand.” Ah, this was payment for Jacks lips to remain closed. Well, that was fine. Easy money.
“Of course. I wouldn't want to trouble Oliver with any embarrassing rumors. Not easy to deal with at his age.” He slipped the money into his pocket. The man nodded. A deal struck. Then the two of them left. Jack took out the fifty dollar bill again and looked at it. He was going to have an awesome birthday party this year. He grinned. Though at the back of his mind something seemed off about this whole thing.
