The laughing was strange. It was a high pitched gurgling sound that reminded you somewhat of a drowning goat. This wasn't a regular goat though.
No one around you seems to notice it other than you. Perhaps their ears can't hear it? Or was it magic?
You walk towards the sound of the noise, blurring out the sounds of the market as you make your way through an alleyway. Here you could definitely tell the sound was coming through there.
You go inside the twisting maze of the alleyway, coughing slightly at the putrid smell coming from the rottening within the alleyway.
You have to move through piles of what almost seem to be dead rodents and feces as you follow the strange laughter. The sounds of the market were long gone and instead replaced with the constant laughing. You turn a corner and see a gruesome scene. There were four creatures in total. Four imps to be exact.
They were all the size of a small dog, covered in a thick red fur, two stubby wings grew out of their backs, their feet were cloven and they all had a short tail with a spike at the end. All of them were completely naked, being able to see their small sheaths.
Three of the tiny imps were currently savagingly beating the fourth. The fourth one moaned in agony as the other three takes it's body with their sharp claws. The three imps continued beating up the fourth, all of them seeming to be in extreme pleasure as they slowly kill of their own kind.
You had to admit, you felt pity for the fourth, you should help it, regardless of whether it was a demon or not.
You walk up to the three imps, and before they even notice you, you step on one of them them, crushing it's bones and skulls easily with your foot. The result was quite literally a bloody pulp.
The other two see this and see you, their laughing stops and they're ugly faces become contorted with fear. They attempt to run but you simply grab both of them with your paws and squeeze them, feeling them be crushed under your mighty paw.
You drop their corpses onto the ground, hearing a dull thud as their bodies hit the cobblestone. You didn't quite feel as bad for killing them as you did with the merchant bodyguard. These were demons, mercilessly torturing their own kind.
The remaining imp stares at you with fear, you simply stare back curious to see what it would do.
Once realizing that you won't kill it, it slowly moves towards the body of one of its torturors and begins.... drinking it's blood. You make a face of disgust as you see the imp you just save immediately start lapping at the blood coming from the dead imp.
However as it drinks, you see that it's wounds are slowly healing as it drinks more and more, to the point where all of its injuries have completely healed.
After recovering the Imp starts searching among the trash around you both, and you watch as it returns with about five small vials that were decently cleaned of dirt and grime.
You continue to watch with morbid curiosity as you see it begin to drain the blood from the imps into the vials. It fills up all five of them and then looks at you.
More out of fear than curtsy it hands you one of its five vials and then starts running off into the darkness leaving you alone with three dead imps by your feet.
After making sure the imp had left, you inspect the vial it had given you. Obviously it seemed to have healing properties for imps, but would it work for you? Would you even dare drink it? It was clearly demons blood.
Regardless the imp seemed solely focused on collecting as much of it as it could, only giving you this one vial to ensure you wouldn't kill it. Like a bribe? Was demon blood a currency? Or was it simply extremely valuable?
You didn't know.
