"Hello, Arthur."
I paused for a moment to take in her perfect figure. "Hello, Ashlyn."
"Is this your dorm? It's very tidy."
"Why thank you. I've always tried to keep it somewhat orderly. Would you like anything to drink?"
"No, you see my digitally generated body doesn't require any food or drink, nor do I need to relieve myself. I trust you are familiar with magic?"
"Yes, of course. So why don't you tell me about yourself?"
"Well, as for my personality there isn't much there yet, that's for you to define. I can tell you about my physical condition though."
"Absolutely. I would love to hear what it's like to be you." I motioned for my nude girlfriend to sit down beside me.
"So, it probably took a while to 'print me out', didn't it?"
"Yes, almost an hour."
"That's because it was the first time your particle arranger had ever assembled me. In the future, it should only take 10-15 minutes. Of course, you can also use it to suck me back into your computer. That's instant. Also, you must have noticed the pause button on the download screen."
"Yes, I tried pressing it halfway though but resumed the download immediately."
"If you stop the download halfway though, it's fine, just remember that whatever is here of me has to be on the platform when you resume, otherwise it will generate the remaining part of me separately from the rest of my body. Also, make sure to never close the program in the middle of a download."
"Good to know. We have two daily checks in here, the custodian at around 2:30 and the supervisor at 10. Downloading or summoning people is strictly forbidden here, so I'll have to store you in the computer for those times. Fortunately, they are very relaxed about visitors; wandering the campus during the day should be fine."
"I'm glad to hear that. I'd love to meet your friends. Can we go see them now?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't have any clothes for you right now."
Ashlyn looked at me like I was stupid. "Why would I want to cover up a body like this? You blessed me with these features, I'll just go naked. Plus, you can always cast a spell of normalcy. They won't even notice." I couldn't believe it, I'd hit the jackpot.
"Ok, but we better be quick. It's getting late." I checked my watch. "Shit! It's almost ten o'clock! I'm sorry, but the supervisor's going to be here soon. If he sees you, I'm screwed!"
"Alright, I'll go back into the computer. It's been a pleasure meeting you, Arthur. I look forward to talking to you tomorrow!" She stood on the platform of the particle arranger.
"Oh, the pleasure is all mine. See you soon!" I pressed the button and watched her body disappear in a flash of light. I quickly put away my computer, just in time for the supervisor to knock on the door.
"Is everything all right in here?"
"Couldn't be better," I sincerely replied.
"Have a great night," she said, closing the door. But all I could think about was seeing Ashlyn again, the next day.
