Joey walked into the store. His friends at school had told him about the store.
Joey was distressed over his 16 year old brother Steve having all but stopped spending time with him. All Steve ever seemed to do was study and he was often stressed out and didn't seem interested in playing at all anymore. The 8 year old could tell that his brother hated having so much work and wanted a release from it but he also wanted Steve to spend more time with him.
Walking up to the counter, he had to use a stool to see over the counter. Once he was standing on it, he rang the bell.
A sweet looking old man dressed in a blue robe walked up to the desk.
"Hello, how can I help you?" he asked.
"Hi, I'm looking for something to make my brother want to play with me and free him from having to do so much work. He's always mad and its making him be mean to me. I think if he didn't have to work so much, he'd be nice and happy again. Can you help me?"
The young man looked at the boy, thinking of a solution.
"There is one possible way young man. I can make for you a candle that will release your brother from his obligations and make him want to play with you all of the time. Is that what you would like?" he asked.
"Yes! I don't have a lot of money, only like $20, what can I get for that?"
"Oh, don't you worry, that is more then enough. This candle is no small thing however. Are you prepared to take responsibility for it's effects? I don't want someone so young to end up doing something he's not ready for"
Joey studied the question, wondering what the man meant. He really didn't care, he just wanted Steve to not have to work so much and to be able to play again.
"Yes, I'm ready!"
"Okay then, come back in one hour and I will have this ready for you"
Joey nodded and left the store. When he returned an hour later, the man had the candle ready. It was a yellow candle about the size of a pop can.
"Welcome back Joey, I have it ready. All you need to do is put it in his room and have him light it and it will do it's magic from there. That will be $20" the man said.
Joey paid and thanked the man, eagerly taking the candle and walking out of the store.
When he got home, Steve was already in his room studying. Joey knocked on the door. When Steve opened it, he looked tired and stressed out. Joey handed the candle, saying it was supposed to help him to relax and feel better. Steve already felt like crap and was pretty desperate. He eagerly took it and thanked his little brother.
Closing his door, he put it on his desk on a holder and lit it before going back to work.
