James followed his colleague’s screams and met them at the rocks peak. They were all watching as a giant figure emerged from the trees. It was a beautiful black haired girl looking around in the pond. The frogs got down to blow the horns and warn the Pond for everyone to have time to escape. James was the only one staying behind…that figure, he knew it!
“Kayla!” he croaked as his mind remembered him. As if she had heard him, she looked at him and pointed.
“There you are, James, I found you. I remember you!”
Scared James jumped down the rock quickly before her soft hands caught him. He jumped in the water, swam between the lily pads, the tall grass and back to his home. He could already see Lisa peeking at the giant menace, by the door of their home. He called for her. She noted him swimming towards her, making a huge effort. That was when he felt his whole body warm. It levitated and got out of the water, he was wrapped in a green light. He closed his eyes and when he opened them he was a man once again. His feet now were sinking in the muddy floor of the Pond, the shadow casting over the frogs and his former love running away into the tall grass. Suddenly every bit of his memory came back.
“I’m sorry for the long time I took” Kayla said. “Well, three months are more than a long time, isn’t it. I hope you liked your experience!”
“Yeah…sure” he muttered, still confused an shaken by the transformation. He stretched his arms and legs, scratched his patchy hairs on his chest and it felt great feeling his brown hair again.
“I told your family I was a friend of yours and you told me I you were going on a voyage to Mozambique to do volunteer work with children! So, you should go by the police warn them you came back before this whole thing turns worst then it is…I don’t think they believe me!”
“Humm…of course. What took you so long?”
“The circus had a tour and I kind of forgot…Sorry!”
“Ok! Just conjure me a pair of boxers or something, I can’t go back home like this!”
