Despite Benton’s initial reservations with socializing with those not considered wealthy; the were-panther could not deny he was having a pleasant time dining with the Lawson’s at Grrrrrrr. After enjoying their risotto and then the pork belly entrée; the two couples were spending time chatting while waiting for dessert.
“Have to admit,” Evan sipping some water; “the pork belly was delicious.”
“Pretty sure mom could do better,” Maggie grinning.
“Your parents are foodies,” Evan shaking his head; “thanks to them, Spencer is becoming one.”
“You weren’t complaining during thanksgiving,” Maggie scolding; “when mom and my sister cooked most of the food.”
“Well at least they can cook,” Evan grinning; “unlike your father.”
“Ooh husband,” Maggie smirking; “that’s going to cost you tonight. And besides all your father can do is cook beans in the microwave or meat on the bbq.”
“At least he can cook something,” Evan answers; “but I do worry for his health after mom died.”
Benton and Amanda were doing their best not to get involved as the listened in on Evan and Maggie’s chat.
“Want to jump in Amanda;” Benton answering.
Amanda grinning just speaks up; “beats Benton here,” Amanda smiling; “the only kitchen appliance he can use is the coffee machine.”
“That’s because Frieda showed me,” Benton looking bemused; “I tried making toast. It was a disaster.”
“Which is why you’re staying out of the kitchen,” Amanda chuckling; “when Ethel comes back from her honeymoon with John.”
“Fat chance,” Benton answering; “that’s where the coffee machine is.”
All laugh just as there were-tiger waiter comes with a tray off desserts. Handing both Benton and Amanda a bowl of mint ice cream on top of rice pudding infused with catnip. Maggie was given the same but instead of mint ice cream, hers had chocolate ice cream. Evan Lawson was served a savory crème Brule with a crispy topping of bacon and cheese.
“Please enjoy,” the were-tiger grinning.
As they all dived into their desserts; Maggie, Amanda and Benton lit right up when they tasted the rice pudding.
“Ohhhhhhh,” Amanda purring; “Frieda wasn’t kidding when she said dessert was to die for.”
“No shit,” Benton savagely eating his; “you going to finish yours Amanda?”
Amanda hisses as Benton tries to steal her dessert; “mine!”
“I think I know what is driving us crazy,” Maggie eating her dessert; “cat nip.”
“Cat nip,” Evan looking at Maggie; “is that even possible?”
“Cat nip is irresistible to felines Evan,” Maggie already licking her bowl clean; “It stands to reason us feline weres are also effected, its driving us crazy.”
“I’ll admit,” Evan eating his dessert while looking at the rest of the patrons eating; “this crème brule is great, but I’m not going crazy mad like you three.”
“Too bad,” Benton licking his bowl clean; “because that was divine.”
“I can understand why Frieda wanted us to come here,” Amanda finishing her dessert; “that was delicious.”
“I can think of something else that is delicious,” Benton looking at his wife with renewed lust.
“You’ll have to catch me when we get home,” Amanda purrs; “because this place clearly put me in the mood.”
Evan laughs; “looks like you got some big love planned tonight as well.”
“Yes,” Benton’s arousal starting to show as he struggles to keep Amanda off of him.
“Perhaps we should get the cheque and get going then,” Evan also trying to keep Maggie’s paws off him; “Because our wives definitely want a second dessert.”
“Don’t bother getting dressed Evan,” Maggie purrs; “I’ll just ripe your uniform off the moment we get home.”
“So we just run home in our fursonas,” Evan looking at his wife?
“It’s dark outside,” Benton chuckling; “no need to worry about breaking any of the town’s were laws.”
“Oh yeah,” Evan grinning just as the bill for dinner arrives.
Looking at the bill; Evan blanches as he sees the cost of diner. Benton laughing as he drops down his platinum card and pays for dinner. With the couple getting up to leave to collect their clothes from the attendant; the two were couples step outside to see the town in a winter wonderland. While the snowfall was short; it did drop enough snow to warrant the shoveling of driveways and streets being plowed. As Benton and Amanda waited for the valet to bring up their town car; Evan and Maggie walked to their vehicle parked a block away. Enjoying the crunching sound the snow made as their digitigrade paws made contact with the ground. Unconcerned with it being cold outside; Evan and Maggie carrying their clothes and belongings in their paws as they walk in their fursonas, enjoying the night and the anticipating the fun it will bring.
