“No!” he yelled. He pushed the girl away and got up triping on her. He heard her curse as he stepped on her webbed hand. The Tree Frog girl quickly jumped and landed nearby a tree, she did it again and disappear midway in the trees.
Martyn dressed up and went to the pool side searching for Rachel who was already coming back with a beverage on her hand.
“What’s the problem?” she asked.
“I’m going back to the room I have a sudden headache” he lied. His girlfriend frowned but let it go and made her way back to their special place. Martyn got inside the Hotel, entered the lift all alone and looked himself in the mirror –he looked for frog signs, a spot, webbing on his fingers, gawky skin but he found nothing. He opened his mouth and did noticed how his tongue was changed. He hoped Rcahel wouldn’t notice.
He rentered his room and immediately went to the balcony where he looked upon the pool. He oculdn’t see Rachel behind the trees; he then searched the surroundings trying to find signs of the Tree Frog Girl but didn’t see anything. He scratched his goatee as he thought about how to find her – maybe in the pond, in the forest, once again at the witch’s pond?
The buzzing got his attention. Martyn simply took a glance at the dragonfly and opened his salivating mouth that caught the bug mid-air and trapped it in his mouth. Martyn couldn’t believe what he had done, but again he was savoring it. Most likely his taste buds had also changed to those of a frog.
“Dude!” he heard. Martyn looked to his right and there were two kids, less than 10 years old looking at him amazed at the next balcony.
“You’re a lizard” the blonde one said.
“What?”
“You just ate a bug with your tongue” the other one said.
“No I did not” Martyn denied.
“Yes, you did. Just like a lizard- a chameleon”.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, kids”.
“You’re a lizard man!”
“I’M A FROG!” he raged and went back inside his room. Who would believe two kids, right?
