Being very careful not to sever any important roots, you successfully unearth the flower and set it in the pot. On the way home, you could swear you saw the plant twitching around, but you dismissed it as the moving car jostling it.
It was mid afternoon when you reached Kylee's place. You carry the flower behind your back, walk up to the door, place it to the side and ring the bell. Kylee answers the door to find you with a wide, silly grin on your face. "Andy;" she said; "what a pleasant surprise. I didn't think you'd remember my birthday."
"Are you kidding? Would I forget the most important day of the most important girl in my life?"
"Aww, so sweet!" Kylee smiled as you entered, but became quizzical when she noticed there seemed to be something behind you you. "What are you hiding back there?"
"Oh, just a little something I dug up for your birthday. Close your eyes." Kylee giggled and closed them. You bring the flower out and say; "Okay, open them."
Kylee opened her eyes. Her face beamed at the sight of the flower; she gasped and shouted; "Is beautiful! What kind of flower is it?"
"Not a clue. I tried using an image search app to look it up, but it came up empty. For now, I'll call it, the 'Kylee's Gift'."
"Aww, you're so romantic!" Kylee said as she gave you a kiss. "I know just where to put this!"
Kylee wasted no time taking the flower to her backyard garden. Brick walkways passed by many varieties of flowers, and in front of a fountain decorated with small stone fairies was a prime spot for a centerpiece flower. Kylee had searched long and hard for something to put there, but never managed to find it... until now.
She knelt down, dug a hole in the spot, and gently placed the 'Kylee's Gift' within. She moved the soil back into place and sat down with you on a bench to admire her present with you; her head on your shoulder, and your arm around her back.
