You find yourself held motionless by those vivid eyes, shining bright despite the dim torchlight. As you stand there, you hear a scratchy noise from the direction of those eyes. You furrow your brows, but make no moves, and it comes again, slightly clearer this time.
"W-waa-ter," a raspy dull voice whimpers, barely getting out the word. You are shocked at the incongruity between those eyes and that voice, but you feel sorrow as well. Being drawn into this world by no choice of your own, you feel a strange kinship to this witch, who has no control over her own future. Maybe if you help her defy her fate, she might help you return to yours.
You look about for a way to enter the cell, and see a ring of keys hanging at the end of the passage. Quietly slipping over, you scout around to see if anyone else is down there, but spot no one. Grabbing the keys, you quickly find the right one for the witch's cell and enter. Her emerald eyes follow your every move, but remain inscrutable. Shuffling through the keys, you finally find the one that unlocks the witch's manacles, and quickly loose her, causing her to fall to the ground in weakness. You barely manage to grab her before her head hits the stone, and lay her down gently.
"W-w-wa-water," the desperate whisper again comes, but you have no liquid on you, as there was no item which would store fluid in the king's chambers. You look in a few other cells for a water bucket, but the place is bare. You return to the witch's side in defeat, then suddenly remember something. Digging through your sack, you find the pouch that held the items the king had hidden. Pulling out the two vials, you quickly open one and sniff it warily, hoping it is not poison or something equally nasty. You smell nothing offensive, but while that is no guarantee, it is virtually certain that the witch will die if you do not get some form of liquid into her immediately.
Lifting her head, you quickly pour the vial down her throat, then lay her head down on your thighs. She swallows the liquid greedily enough, not stopping to wonder what it is, and by her reaction she seems more at ease afterwards. You sigh in relief, but your satisfaction quickly fades into horror as the witch's body suddenly begins to writhe and contort. You are not sure what is going on, but you are fairly certain your vial has caused it.
