The Madame Illusia

Pearls Before Swine

added 19 years ago A O

"Madame Illusia, you've gone too far this time, you, Old Witch!" cried out a matronally voice from overhead.

Illusia looked up from the transforming pigs. Descending through a tear in the tent top was a heavyset older woman with fairy wings.

"Begone, you faeries have no power here!" cried Madame in anger and perhaps a hint of fear.

"No power, except what you yourself have given. Carla is my godchild, and under the code of magic, you have started a blood feud!"

"You cannot break my spells! Begone, interfering fairy before you join your godchild rooting for truffles!"

"Casting pearls before swine!"

"What is that supposed to mean? Aaaack!" The witch asked and gasped in horror feeling her magic being sucked out of her along with her bones.

The witch seemed to melt within her clothing. Her gelantinous flesh began to exude hard shell like material. In a few moments, a giant oyster shell rested in the pile of Illusia's clothing.

The witch struggled to speak, to use her magic, to even breathe in the arid non-oceanic world. Her bivalve shifted, and her shell sprung open revealing a bowling ball sized pearl resting in the bosom of the giant mullosk. The hungry pigs ignoring the pearl charged and gorged themselves on the pale meat before the startled Illusia could slam her hinge muscle shut, she was dead.

The audience applauded. One man stepped forward and reached for the pearl, "This must be worth a fortune," he said.

"Or a great deal of misfortune," said the fairy godmother, still hovering. She added, "It's the witch's magic concentrated into a sphere. Destroy it and you may break all her enchantments."

"Are you crazy? This is worth millions. Concentrated magic, you say? Hm? If I can figure out how to use it, it's worth more than millions! Look out, Bill Gates, Harcourt Fenton Mudd is going to replace you as America's wealthiest man!"

"Did you say your name is Harcourt Fenton Mudd?" the fairy asked incredulously.

"Yeah, my folks were Trekkies, excuse me they prefer Trekkers, and there weren't any other characters with the last name Mudd," sighed the balding young man. "But that's all going to change," he said rubbing the giant pearl, "I wish..." The air tingled as he began to access Illusia's concentrated magic. The fairy braced herself, there was nothing else she could do. She'd satisfied her vendetta against Illusia, and the rules of magic were very precise.
