"Oh, we should get a picture of the two of us with the flower!" You suggest.
"Great idea Andy!" Kylee agreed.
You wait beside the back door for Kylee to get her digital camera. When she returned you both open the door and hastily step outside, only for something bright pink to smack Kylee right in the face. "Kylee, you okay!" You shout as you see your girlfriend covering her face with her hand.
"Oww... Yeah, I'm fine; just a little bump. What was that? I could've sworn I heard it... shriek, or squeak or something when it hit? I don't know."
"No, I think I heard it, too." Looking around, you see a figure collapsed on the deck. You thought it was some kind of doll, until you saw it propping itself up, and hear it moan in a high-pitched voice. "Whoa, what!?" You shout.
"What, what is it?" Kylee asked, removing her hand from her face.
"That!" You pointed at the tiny flower girl standing up and brushing off the petals of her skirt.
Kylee stared in awe at the girl looking behind herself, checking her wings and giving them a few test flutters before lifting off the ground. "Is that... a fairy?!"
The girl winced and staggered in her flight. You quickly reach out and scoop the tiny girl into your hands. "Don't worry, I got you!" You say to her before heading over to the patio table, all set up for you and Kylee to have a nice birthday dinner outside, and set the fairy down on top.
Kylee walked over to the table with you and sat down next to you, rubbing her cheek from where the fairy impacted. "I'm... I'm terribly sorry If I hurt you."
"I should be the one apologizing to you;" Kylee said; "you're the one who seems to be the worse for wear. Sorry, about that."
"It's nothing. A little rest, and my wing should be good as new in no time." She then coiled her wings into their resting flower bud shape.
"Do you have a name?" You ask.
"Of course I do." She answered. "You can call me Rosa."
"I'm Andy." You said.
"And I'm Kylee."
"Pleased to meet you both." Rosa said, giving a curtsey.
"I must say, you have a very pretty dress." Kylee said.
"Dress?" Rosa asked, her head tilted to one side. Kylee brushed a finger along Rosa's skirt, causing the fairy to giggle "Stop tickling me!" she said, playfully swatting the finger away. The two of you looked surprised at the reaction. When Rosa looked at her skirt, then back up to you, she said. "Oh, my petals! No, this is actually all me right here. I forgot our petals tend to resemble human gowns. I'm glad you think they're pretty!"
"So, where did you come from, anyway?" You ask.
"The Realm of Faery. I entered this realm from the flower portal that now sits in your Flower Shrine."
"Flower Shrine?" Kylee asked, she looked to where the fairy pointed. "Oh, you mean the garden?"
"And the flower portal was the flower I found in the woods this morning."
"Correct!" The fairy nodded. "I meant to go to those woods for some berries, but instead, I wind up in that lovely tribute to flower and fairy! Tell me, did you construct it?"
"Yeah, we both did." You answer. "It took a whole week of hard work, but sitting in it with my sweetheart, it was worth it." You pull Kylee into a hug.
"I tend to it every weekend;" Kylee added; "and Andy helps when he's over."
"Such devotion, I can tell! Alright It's decided, I shall give you our most precious gift!" Her wings unfurled and fluttered, lifting Rosa into the air.
"What is it?" You and Kylee ask.
"I'm going to give you the gift of becoming beautiful and magical flower fairies."
