William and Martha arrive back at the elder council building to see many werewolves milling about the front entrance. Knowing they are werewolves through their keen sense of smell, yet all of them in suits and looking human. Inside, they see more werewolves clearly in their fursona’s; heading to the security to see the same guard and attendant as earlier. Letting the two know why they are there; both shift into their were-fox fursona as they take their clothes off.
Moments later after getting word from a council member to let them in, the werewolf attendant guides the Anderson’s to the common area to see most of the council milling about. Seeing their son Eric in his white were-panther fursona along with Spencer and Frieda; made the were-foxes breathe a sigh of relief. Next to the three was Benton and Amanda Knight; also chatting with the three. Eric noticing his parents beckons them forward.
‘So,” William looking at Benton with a wary eye; “what happened?”
“The council declared Julie guilty,” Eric answering; “on both statue 1A violations.”
“So she is going to a prison for weres then,” Martha speaking up.
“As soon as she is recaptured,” Benton snorting; “the little guppie had the guts to escape the building.”
“Is that why a were-alert was issued,” William looking at his son but keeping an eye on Benton.
“You can stop giving me the stink eye,” Benton answering; “I’m not stupid to cause a scene here. But as for the were-alert.”
“It’s because Julie committed murder in escaping.”
William and Martha turn around, while Benton and Amanda look up to see Lance with his girlfriend looking under the weather despite being a were-tigress. Amanda getting up to get a better look at the woman who has fallen for her brother in-law. Seeing the were-tigress up close, Amanda just growls as she makes a flippant remark; “well at least she doesn’t look like a were-mare.”
Lance not in the mood for Amanda’s snobbery, just growls back; “I could care less what you think Amanda Vonhoffen,” Lance using Amanda’s maiden name. “You ever insult my girlfriend again-“
“Brother,” Benton growling; “back off, I’m sure my wife didn’t mean what she said.”
“Then she better apologize Benton,” Lance answering; “because kitty here has claws,” Lance referring to Lila as she stares at back at Amanda.
“So Julie committed murder,” William trying to change the conversation and stop a possible cat fight from happening.
“Yes,” Lance silently thanking William’s tact; “Lila was the unfortunate were-tigress to discover the body. That is why a were-alert has been issued and you are seeing members of the Luna Brotherhood all over the place.”
“Any leads,” William seeing the were-panthress and were-tigress staring at each other menacingly.
“There is a possible lead that Julie has left town and is on her way to Seattle or in Seattle as we speak,” Lance sighing; “but until we get confirmation-“
“A massive search of the surrounding woods in and around the town,” Benton groaning; “to search for the guppy.”
“Well,” Martha looking at the three children as they talk amongst themselves; “at least we know they are safe.”
Amanda looking to see Eric and Frieda rubbing Spencer’s ear as she purrs in pure contentment; “yes, they are safe.”
“With the were-alert,” William speaking up; “we gathered up Spencer’s and Frieda’s belongings and have them in our car. We can transfer them to yours since they are staying over at your estate. We told Nate to head straight home from school. Spencer will just have to make do without the stuff she left in his car for the evening.”
“Any extra clothes for me,” Eric still rubbing one of Spencer’s ears.
“Yes,” Martha speaking; “as well as a pair of shoes.”
“Okay,” Benton responding; “Amanda can you help them, I need to talk to Lance.”
Amanda just looks at her husband funnily, but agrees to assist the Andersons in putting Eric, Spencer and Frieda’s belongings into their town car. Walking past Lila; Lila gets in a dig at Amanda by doing a good imitation of a horse whinnying.
“Well,” Lance shaking his head; “that introduction could have gone better.”
“She started it,” Lila grumbling; “and I’m not going to put up being insulted by miss snob.”
“Alright knock it off,” Benton sighing; “Lance will you be helping with the were-alert? Mom and dad are coming tonight.”
“I’ll be there,” Lance answering; “ I may be a bit late, what with council business.”
“Okay,” Benton answering; “I’ll see you later.”
“And me,” Lila grinning; “I’m not going to miss a chance a meeting future inlaws.”
“Just mind your manners with Amanda then,” Benton looking at the were-tigress; “I’m not keen on having to break up a cat fight.”
“So,” Lila grinning; “you’re expecting one then?”
“Oh this should be great,” Lance giggling; “you and Esmerelda are going to get along fine.”
“Anyone who hates my wife,” Benton grumbling; “gets along with mother.”
Lance just laughs as Benton shakes his head. Collecting the children so they can head to his estate for the evening; Benton can’t help but think, ‘it’s going to be a long night.’ Looking his daughter Frieda as well as Eric and Spencer; ‘and a long day as well,’ finishing his thought.
