CYOTF (Animal)

At the hospital with the Stovall's (Moon Lake of Earth 2)

added by Franknfurter69 6 years ago O

Martin was asleep in a chair he had placed next to his wife Melissa. Melissa now nearing two weeks in her pregnancy was rushed to the hospital after fainting in Frances Twist office. Receiving a rather shocking text regarding their daughter, Julie actions; Being made to stay overnight for observation after regaining consciousness, Melissa was still asleep when a doctor came into the room to check up on her patient.

Looking at the usual numbers the nurses leave on the charts; Martin Stovall begins to wake up. Seeing the doctor in the room he groggily starts to speak.
“How is my wife? How is Melissa?”
“Her vitals are fine,” the doctor answering; “I see no reason for her to stay any longer. So she will be discharged today.”
“When,” Martin starting to look more alert; despite his massive hangover.
“As soon as she wakes up,” the doctor answering; “but perhaps we should talk first.” The doctor closing the door to ensure privacy.
“About what,” Martin starting to nudge Melissa up.
“About your daughter threatening my daughter,” the doctor responding; “I’m Maggie Lawson. Spencer Lawson’s mother.”

Martin taking a moment to register the name; looking confused and then having an ‘oh shit’ moment. Recognizing the Lawson name as someone Julie was grinding on in regards to Eric Anderson and her desire to get revenge on him; Martin knew this was something he wasn’t looking forward to.
“Look,” Martin looking sincere; “doctor, my daughter is in no position to be seeking revenge or making good on any threats at the moment. She is in the custody of the Elder Council. Her sentencing for statue 1A charges will be announced today.”
“Plus,” Melissa moaning; “the murder she is facing in escaping the council yesterday.”
“Regardless of the fact,” Maggie Lawson speaking; “I do not take kindly to the fact that veiled threats are being made towards my family.” Maggie staring at the mayor coldly; “we already had to deal with Jeremy Bower. A matter that I’m sure you are well aware of and what happened.”
“I’m aware,” Martin sighing; the whole incident of the Bower family coming to Moon Lake to get revenge for Spencer rejecting Jeremy junior or some such slight caused quite the bit of property destruction and an FBI agent getting to close to finding out the town’s secret afterwards.
“Then are you also aware,” Maggie speaking; “that my husband an active Navy Seal in the U.S military, taught Spencer quite a bit in how to defend herself. She was taught how to fight like a marine. Marine’s fight dirty by the way.”
“Like I said,” Martin repeating himself; “Julie is in no position to be seeking revenge or making good on any threats. I doubt the council will go easy on her, despite what happened yesterday last night.”

Melissa now fully awake and staring at her doctor; a mother herself and clearly a were by her unique hybrid scent. Melissa could not help feel a pang of fear at this person. Instinctively putting her hand to her belly; an effort to protect the fetus developing in her. Maggie seeing this softens her stance towards the distraught couple.
“How far along are you,” Maggie speaking; “pregnancy wise.”
“About two weeks,” Melissa answering; “why ask?”
“Because you are cradling your abdomen in an effort to protect it,” Maggie speaking.
“Oh,” Melissa realizing and letting go of her stomach; “is there anything wrong with my fetus?”
“Nothing showed up to indicate otherwise,” Maggie looking at the chart; “but I recommend a follow up with your OB/GYN to confirm.”
“We’ll make the appointment,” Martin answering coldly; “can we go now?”
“I recommend breakfast first,” Maggie answering; “but I see nothing medically that should keep you here.”

Both Martin and Melissa nod acknowledging Maggie. Seeing her leave the two sigh as Martin helps Melissa out of bed. Still hungover and feeling groggy; he steady’s himself with the help of an arm chair.
“Are you heading to the council building,” Melissa asking; “to check on Julie and attend her sentencing?”
“I should,” Martin answering; “but I really don’t want to. That letter Julie wrote-“
“I’m not going over there,” Melissa answering flatly; “I’m not going to endanger the health of our second child by trying to talk to her.”
“Unless Andrew requests my presence,” Martin helping his wife out the room; “I’m not going either. Plus I’m sure I have a mountain of paper work as mayor that needs doing.”
“Work from home today then,” Melissa asking; “I don’t want to be alone right now.”
“Well unless Frances is still around,” Martin speaking; “It looks like we are calling a cab to take us home.”

Frances, who was sitting at her mother’s bedside; who was still unconscious from her suicide attempt slowly starts to wake up. Seeing her husband Joseph and Frances in the same room together and not fighting was like a prayer come true. Not seeing her son present she startles the two by speaking.
“Where is Samson?”
“Mother,” Frances immediately looking alert; “you’re awake.”
“Of course I’m awake,” Angelica answering; “Where is Samson?”
“Is that all you have to say,” Frances looking upset; “after you tried to overdose on morphine. Ask for your son?”
“Enough Frances,” Joseph responding; “Angelica doesn’t know what happened last night.”
“What happen last night,” Angelica answering; “what happen to Samson?”
“Mother,” Frances sighing; “Samson had to help hunt down a rogue were last night. Chances are he is still asleep or still on duty. He is a deputy.”
“Are you two back on speaking terms,” Angelica looking at her daughter and Husband in the same room.
“Let’s just say we had a talk last night,” Joseph speaking; “there are… issues that still need addressing.”
“Suffice to say mother,” Frances speaking; “we are not trying to gouge each other’s eyes out.”
“It’s a start,” Angelica sighing.
“Look,” Frances getting nervous; “I need to go. Check on Ben and my wife Samantha make sure they are all right.”
“What about your friend,” Joseph speaking ignoring Frances marital status despite finding it immoral; “the pregnant woman.”
“Her husband is here,” Frances answering; “but I will see if they are all right. And I think they need ride back home or at least to their car. It is still at my office.”
