When the pop comes, you expect to rise up and become much bigger, but instead you find yourself just as tall as you were when you were a pumpkin. Confused, you go to stand up, but feel top heavy and end up falling onto all fours. All fours? You turn your head, looking at your body, and are shocked to see the sleek frame of a cat, covered in black fur complete with a tail twisting and turning in the air.
You give a yowl of surprise and the sudden burst of shock causes you to race off the porch, streaking down the road. You reach a puddle and screech to a halt, paws skittering on the wet pavement looking into the water, you see the apathetic face of a black cat staring at you, with two big green eyes with slitted pupils, a muzzle, and two pointed ears that swivel at every sound. You try to talk, to scream, to say anything, but all that comes out is a cat's meow. You hiss in frustration and arch your back, fur standing on end.
After that, you pad down the road, wondering what the hell you're going to do now. You're stuck as a cat at the moment with no apparent way of becoming human again. It's very dark out, but your new and improved night vision allows you to see quite clearly. Suddenly, your ears swivel towards a sound from down the road. You stop in your tracks and peer out into the darkness.
A loud barking suddenly comes from the end of the road, and a huge Doberman bursts out of the bushes and starts running towards you, fangs bared. You yowl and turn tail, streaking down the road. Despite your much improved speed due to your small size, the dog is gaining. You look left and right, for anywhere to escape the dog, and see a tall tree next to a house. You eagerly dart up it, using your claws to hook at the bark, climbing in a way you didn't know you could.
A few seconds later, you're sitting on a branch far above the ground, shivering with fright, looking down at the dog. It's foresaw are up against the bark and it keeps growling at you. You continue to stay in the tree for about an hour until the dog seems to lose interest and pads away.
You're not sure if you want to get down yet, though. What if the dog comes back? Looking around, your eyes catch on the roof of the house about ten feet below you. It's your best bet at the moment. You back up on the branch, body coiling. Then, with one swift motion, you streak down the branch and leap off it with the agility only a cat has. You yowl out in fright as you hit the roof hard, tumbling, traveling up until you roll to a stop. Your tail flicks around wildly.
You get up on your paws and begin padding around the roof, looking for some kind of entrance. You spy a stone chimney and decide it's your best bet. You coil up and spring onto the top of it and, with a deep breath, jump down the hole into the house.
