Scott had no idea what had sparked the newest fad. But seemingly overnight, cheap, high quality brands had been foreshadowed by the media, and then all released on the same day. For the first 24 hours they were insanely expensive, but then the next day dropped to much more average... which of course made people buy them all the more. And ... they were dragon themed, dragons soda, dragon video games, dragon make-up, dragon costumes, dragon music, dragon burgers, countless pointless useless dragon apps, even dragon pet rocks.
The media had REALLY pushed these... and 'alt-brands' had appeared at almost the same time, in the 'name of competition' but they seemed to be pretty much the same product with different packaging... but they served their purpose in getting people who had a thing against 'the man' into buying them as well. The drug companies had been doing the same thing for years.
Scott himself wasn't sure what the big deal was. But they were proving very popular. Almost infectiously so. Seeing no real harm in taking part in the fad, Scott himself decided to finally take part as well. His co-workers said the company they worked for was holding a 'dragon party' late that night, and all invented, the only pre-requite was to have tried one of their new 'dragon' products before then. Well, Scott wasn't about to pass up a free party.
