You don’t believe her and without another word between the two of you, you start walking towards the exit. You feel very good about yourself, for not only were you able to survive many of the park’s apparent dangers, you were able to stop the man who was behind it all. Now no one else will experience the misfortune of stumbling into this park and get turned into some mindless beast. And what’s even better is that you now have a story to tell your friends about. Not that they’ll believe you of course. But just knowing that you survived to tell the tale to others is a enough of a reward for you.
You are so busy feeling good about yourself and about what you are going to do once you leave the park, that you fail to notice that something is happening to you. You don’t notice that your arms and hands are getting furrier by the minute as a shaggy layer of white fur starts to cover them. And you don’t seem to care that your clothing is starting to fit tight around your now stocky, bear-like frame. You also seem to be unaware that you are start to pant quite contentedly, just like a large, friendly dog would. Yes, everything is definitely starting to look up for you, you think.
Finally you see the exit leading back into the real world. You smile, perk up your now floppy ears up and contentedly pant some more as you awkwardly pick up your pace. And just as you are about to leave the park for good, a loud ripping noise rips you of the pleasant reverie that you had been experiencing for the past couple moments. You try looking back over your shoulder to see what and where the noise came from, but your action causes you to stumble and fall. Luckily for you, you manage to catch yourself before you could plant your face into the ground. You push yourself up onto all fours, and that’s when you notice that you got a new pair of forelegs and paws where your arms and hands should be. Bemusedly you stare at your shaggy, white fur-covered legs as if seeing them for the first time.
Thinking that you must be dreaming or perhaps even hallucinating, you shake your entire body to snap yourself back to full awareness. But the only thing that happens is that you shake off what’s left of your clothing. It just sloughs off to reveal a bear-like body covered in a layer of shaggy white and dark blue merle fur, and falls to the ground around your paws. You look up from the piles of clothing lying at your paws and look back at gates you just walked through.
Looks like that mystery lady was right after all- no one who has defeated the Ranger and stayed human for long. For now, you are a large, Old English Sheepdog. What are you going to do now?
