"Mouse!" you yelp, giving the machine another knock. There is silence and just before giving up, the machine prints a small ticket. Taking it, the paper reads, "Wish granted."
It came suddenly, like a kick to the tail bone that rattled outwards, ripping your pants and taking some of your underwear too. You look back as a ropy and long tail now flopped behind you. You're amazed as the wish just moments ago hits you.
"It works," you pants, walking forward and feeling the drag of the new tail. " I have a mouse tail!" you declare. Another sudden dizziness hits you. Through eyes you fluttered to gain your composure, you see whiskers growing from your cheek and your nose pushing out more. Your nails did that same and you felt normal again, but knew you didn't look it.
"What was that?" you ask, looking around. You see the paper with your wish granted on it but with writing on the back. You read, 'Every time you hear the word mouse, the more you become one. One day, you'll be the rodent you've always been.'
You blink is disbelief. "Mouse?" you foolishly repeat. Your legs and body suddenly hurt. Your clothes feel looser and your ears and teeth are more pointed.
