Tanner was extending an olive branch to his brother and the kid was usually decent so he decided to allow him to make a change or two, it would probably be to change his hair an icy blue like his favorite cartoon character or maybe he will try to get a super power... Tanner knew Derrick would never really hurt him. They weren't all that close but he isn't evil.
Derrick was excited about exploring his new life being closer to his brother until he realized he doesnt have a new life. Not a single memory of high school, no idea how to drive... he wouldn't be able to pass as a 17 year old, not for more than a few minutes, and that's only if he keeps his mouth shut...
Derrick quickly navigated to the mental section and set the changes to effect he and Tanner the same. He set general and school knowledge to be that of a 17 year old, he set maturity level to be that of a 25 year old (because he was told that girls mature faster than boys and he wanted to win.) and he set user/subject reality change to 70% and world reality change to 100%.
He started the machine and smiled to himself, he and his soon to be twin are about to have a good time.
"Derrick, what did you do?" Tanner asked, somewhat alarmed by Derrick's slightly mischievous grin.
"Not too much. We are going to be quite a bit more mature than all our classmates mentally at least, and we are both prepared for Senior year... the rest of this school year should be a breeze. We know everything a junior should know... even though classes just started." Derrick looked over at Tanner with a huge stupid grin.
Tanner took a second thinking about what Derrick meant and went through the last few classes realizing all that stuff was rudimentary compared to what he actually knew on the topics.
"That is AMAZING! You are a genius!" Tanner exclaimed. "I can barely tell what I used to know from what I do know, It feels so natural, how did you do that?"
Derrick naturally showed him the setting as being his equal aged brother is first nature to him where being his kid brother feels like an awkward and somewhat scary dream. Imagine your twin, the person who knows you most intimately, being over double your age and barely knowing who you are. Derrick shuddered and pushed the thought far far away, stupid nightmare.
"So Tanner, what crazy mischief do we want to get into with this?" Derrick smiled evilly and picked the emitter up. The USB cable popped out and Derrick thought he broke it until an indicator light came on saying it was fully charged and ready for mobile transformations...
