Brian woke up after having a deep and restful sleep. Smiling as stretches; Brian was unconcerned that he was not wearing any clothes. Going to sleep in his fursona; the fourteen year old were-otter left his room to head downstairs to make some breakfast. In a good mood and excited that he is about to meet the newest were-beaver before everyone else in school; skipping into kitchen, Brian see his mother up early and fully dressed.
“Morning Brian,” Emily looking at her son; “were is your bathrobe?”
“Upstairs,” Brian grinning; “I didn’t feel like wearing it. I’m warm enough with my fur as it is.”
“Brian,” Emily shaking her head; “the robe is to help maintain modesty.”
“If I was in my human form yes,” Brian answering; “but not wearing anything while in my fursona just feels right. Working at the elder council last night helped reinforce that,” looking at her mother “the only were’s the that wear any clothing for modesty purposes are the wer-mers.”
“Since they don’t have furr or sheathes covering their genitals and breasts,” Emily stating; “I’m familiar with were anatomy. But still,” Emily looking at her son; “wear the robe in the house, at least when you are out of your room please.”
“Fine,” Brian quickly heading back upstairs to his room and then quickly coming back down wearing the thick terry cloth garment; “Why are you up so early mom?”
“I got called into to work at The Local Diner,” Emily answering; “the weekend waitress had a family emergency and I took the offered shift. We do need the money, no thanks to your father.”
Brian nods as he knows what is mother is referring to. When he was young, at around four years old; George Walker left him and his mother for some strumpet at the local grocery store. Running out on his family and taking everything of value and leaving them with more debt than they barely manage. It was this fact that Brian dove into the waters of a career as a gigolo paws and muzzle first. Starting with Alyssa Cooper and then with Betty a black furred were-cat. His foray into the career of male escort was short lived thanks to Sheriff Cooper, his mother and an ominous dream he had witnessing his death several years from now.
“Did,” Brian eating the bowl of hot oatmeal his mother handed to him; “you get another call from the man claiming to be dad?”
“Yes,” Emily answering; “it was George calling.”
“What did he want,” Brian looking disgusted that his father would call after all these years.
“You let me and Andrew worry about it,” Emily answering; “once you are done eating breakfast, please do the dishes and a load of laundry. I should,” Emily heading to the door; “be back around two in the afternoon.”
“I might still be with Patricia,” Brian smiling; “we going to be hanging out by the lake.”
“As long as you leave the house fully dressed,” Emily answering; “and do the chores I ask of you. And try and not be spotted if you are going to be in your fursonas,” Emily smiling; “the lake may be in the were only area of the park, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful. Out of towner’s do wander in from time to time.”
“I know,” Brian answering; “but Patricia is new in town, giving her a helping paw as to the ins and out of our community couldn’t hurt.”
“Just be back in time for supper then,” Emily finishing the conversation.
Brian watching as his mother leaves for a shift at the diner; he waits for her car to be out of the driveway before shucking off his bathrobe. Sighing as he feels happy to be fully embracing his furry form; Brian finishes his breakfast and then gets up from the table to begin the chores his mother asked of him to do.

Emily Walker, pulling into the parking lot of The Local Diner; entering the restaurant she greats the cook/owner as she quickly puts on her flats and work apron. Adjusting her hair and making sure her station is well stocked and the coffee pots are full; she turns around just in time to see the Knight family walking in along with Lila, Eric and Spencer. A party of nine for her to start her shift; Emily doesn’t realize how lucky her day just got.

Back at the Walker residence; Brian was in the middle of washing the dishes when the house phone rings. Looking at the time to see the it is still early in the day; Brian ignores it, letting the machine get it.
“You have reached the Walker residence,” the machine responding; “we are unable to come to the phone right now. But if you leave your name and number, we will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Please wait for the beep”
Brain hears the beep and then the message being recorded.
“I know your there,” the person on the other end speaking; “having me declared dead? Did you not think I wouldn’t notice! You better get off your furry ass and undo this before I decide to take matters into my own paws woman! Fix this or you will regret it!”
There was a noticeable disconnect as Brian quickly dried his paws; grabbing his cell phone he texts a message to Andrew Curtis, informing him of the threatening message that was just left on the machine. Thinking for a moment; Brian also texts, his mother letting her know of the message as well as informing Andrew beforehand. Not wanting to her to worry he lets her know that the message is still on the machine and that he will talk later. Finishing up the dishes; Brian moves onto starting a load of laundry. Passing by the end table Emily uses to put the bills on; seeing one of the past due bills his mother has yet to open, Brian takes it.
“I may not be much,” Brain muttering; “but I can use the last of my gigolo money to pay this one off.”
Opening the past due bill to see it is for the water; Brian puts it upstairs. Determined to take care of it later today, he continues to finish completing his chores for the day.
