Status Reminder

"Are you sure you can handle her, while we still play the game?" he asks her in a low voice.
Kari nods and hands the dice to Richie. she then turns back to her sleeping daughter and brushes a strand of hair from her face.
Richie rolls the dice and watched as they landed him on the same square as the new mother and sleeping daughter. As he moved his piece, he started to regret his stubbornness. In the time he'd known Kari, she'd never seem as content as she looked as she gently patted her daughter. Suddenly, a card was spat out. Richie took it and read it aloud,
"As you approach your friend's camp, you notice that you're not the only person doing so. The stranger had a blade drawn and was moving quietly to the tent. Do you wait or act?"
Before the others could even react, Rich said, "Act!" which caused a second card to emerge, which he also read,
"Acting quickly, you slither with speed you hadn't realised you could. Since you weren't running, the attacker didn't hear you until you were too close for him to react. Moving past his side, you change direction quickly, dashing through his legs and then bounding up his back, coiling whichever body parts you could in your small but powerful tail and constrict as much your muscles allow, causing him to cry out loudly and drop the blade."
Rich spoke quickly, and as he finished a card popped out for Kari, who read, "Not long after you've settled your new daughter down to sleep, you hear a scream of pain and see movement outside the tent. You could grab your pack and daughter and flee, or your staff and join the altercation."
