James looked at the aquarium and saw it clean - half of the water and no tadpoles at all.
"Where's my family? Where are they?" James screeched. He walked around looking for some clue, Lidsa was gone obviously she took them. Where could she go, she didn't know what to do? She didn't know where to go? If she wanted to go back to the pond she no idea how...what if she was hurt? He ran back to the room and started to dress himself so he could go out to the street to look for her. That's when he noticed his cellphone flashing...he had a text from Kayla.
"If you're looking for her,
you should come and see me!! XO"
James didn't think twice and did so.
He drove to the circus - they were still there preparing to live. He looked around for her and asked a trapezist where he could find Kayla. He lead him to ehr tent where she was packing her stuff.
"James, I'm glad you're here"
"You're leaving?"
"Of course, that's how the circus does? We're heading to another town by the nightfall we hope" she explained.
"I got your text..."
"Yeah, right" Kayal pointed out. She reached for a bowl of glass and handed it to him. "That's yours, it's where she brought them, you know the tadpoles..."
"Where is she!" he asked preocupied.
Kayla told him to go with him. She left the circus site and they walked trough the little woods next by; James knew where they were heading. Soon they arrived at the pond's margin, a chorus of croaks received them.
"James, Lisa phoned me today. She somehow figured out how to do it...don't even know if knows how to read though. But she did it. She got out of home with the tadpoles and I met her by the end of the street. She looked so scared by this world and was saying the whole time that she loved you but had to protect her children. Man, I'm sorry, I really screwed up your life!"
"Yeah, you did. I had some girlfriends but she was different..."
"You guys were frogs " Kayla pointed the strangeness. James kept silent and she proceeded to tell him how Lisa asked her to bring her back to the pond and turn her again into a frog. "She told me to tell you she wouldn't forget you".
James looked at the water - many memories came to his head about that place; his eyes gazed upon the water, murky puddles and mossy paths looking for Lisa, he was sure that he'd be able to recognize her.
"What will you do?" she whispered.
