Moon Lake Police Chief O'Hara, Town Chancellor Samantha Twist, and Mayor Martin Stovall were discussing important details concerning the safety of the town and its secrets in regards to the upcoming Harper-Jenkins wedding when O'Hara's cellphone rang.
Grabbing it out of his uniform jacket, he was surprised at what the display screen said. "Any idea why your wife would be calling me Samantha?" he asked.
"No, but she was supposed to see Jenny Harper this morning, so I hope nothing happened," replied the other Mrs. Twist as he answered it.
O'Hara said hello and listened for a moment before saying, "I'm with the Mayor and Town Chancellor right now. Let me put you on speaker Doctor Twist," before doing so.
Now all three of them could hear what Frances had to say. "I sincerely hope I'm not interrupting anything Chief O'Hara, but this is important," she said, all business. "Have you installed the metal detectors at the church yet?"
"My men are working on it now. The church is a bit concerned about them needing to blend into their decor, but otherwise are fully cooperating on the matter," explained O'Hara. "They will be installed and operational in time for both ceremonies Saturday morning," he added, thinking about the real ceremony before the decoy one for everyone coming from Alabama.
"Good. Jenny had another nightmare over night," replied Frances, not wanting to alarm any one in case it might have actually been a prophecy dream that some weres are known to have. "In this one Dieter Wilhelm still killed Harry, but as Tachibana Security was dealing with him, her father picked up Wilhelm's gun and killed his own daughter because she was in her vulpine form over the shock of seeing Harry murdered."
Being a sister werecat, Samantha gasped and started to hiss as Chief O'Hara, his fursona being an Irish Setter, started growling under his breath.
"Okay. Thank you Chief. Take care," said Frances, before ending the call.
"Are you sure there's absolutely nothing we can do beforehand?" asked Mayor Stovall.
"We're taking every precaution we can, but until either this Wilhelm or someone in his employ does something we can legally act upon without exposing the town's secrets in the process..." said O'Hara, to which the Mayor and Town Chancellor could only nod in silent understanding.
MEANWHILE, BACK IN DOCTOR TWIST'S OFFICE...
"See? It's okay," Harry said to Jenny, holding his fiance close. "Everyone is doing everything they can to make sure things happen as WE want them to and not your folks or that bastard Wilhelm."
"I know honey," said Jenny, taking comfort being in his loving arms. "But still..."
"Pre-wedding jitters are natural for any bride to be. More so in this case because of the situation with your parents," pointed out Doctor Twist. "Do you know your mantra?"
"Yes," she replied. " I am Jennifer Harper. Soon to be Jennifer Jenkins, and I am my own person," Jenny said proudly.
"That's right. You are the one in love with Harry. You are the one marrying him, and all the Dieter Wilhelms and Harper clans in the world have absolutely no say in the matter," pointed out Frances. "They may try to ruin your moment because Jennifer Harper becoming Jennifer Jenkins isn't want they want, but you are your own person and this is what Jenny wants."
"You better believe it!" declared Jenny, before smiling and kissing her fiance.
Doctor Frances Twist just smiled at her happy patient, wondering what to address next because there was still over a half hour left in Jenny's regularly scheduled session for this morning.
Whatever happens, Jenny MUST be ready to face her parents, Dieter Wilhelm, and anything else that happens Saturday morning.
