She gathered her clothes, raised her wand and with a poof she returned to the spot where she had first met the evil witch. Confused she inspected her wand and noticed it had been broken and crudely repaired. What happened here? And why are my clothes burnt? She wondered. Someone had tried to help her but who?
She looked around and noticed a heavy track in the dirt nearby. Something large was dragged through here she thought. The good witch investigated and followed the drag marks as best she could in the moonlight until she happened upon the source. A naked woman was dragging herself down the path. The good witch approached and greeted the exhausted human. "Hello?"
The woman turned to face her "It's you!" She said in relief. "Christina saved you and your here to save me." She said with a smile.
"No..." The good witch said with shame. "My amulet must have undone the curse and my wand was snapped so every spell I cast is out of whack."
"But you're wearing the robes Christina took with her when she ran." The woman replied.
A look of confusion crossed the witch's face and finally it lit up in horror. "Oh no! The frog. I'm so stupid! We have to go back for the frog. I think I accidentally threw Christina in the pond."
"Lower your voice!" The woman hissed. "After Christina left the evil witch was furious. My friend Dana and I, Kara by the way, were still paralyze so she left us and returned with a book and a compass."
"Yeah, she lives near here" The good witch explained.
"She read a spell from the book" Kara continued. "And she grew a spider until it 6 feet tall. It grabbed Dana and ran brought her somewhere. I've been trying to get the hell out of here or at least find you two."
"Okay, let's grab Christina and get out of here. The book she has is dangerous and the compass is probably meant to locate my amulet." The witch raised her wand and POOF they returned to the spot where the good witch first reappeared as human but not quite. They were neck deep in water as the wand was still casting every spell askew. Christina held Kara by the stomach to keep her from drowning. "Shhh..." She whispered and motioned back to shore.
The evil witch was standing there holding a frog. "Oh no." she said in a low voice. They continued watching and realized the evil witch was questioning the frog then suddenly they heard her voice rise with anger.
'Useless!" The evil witch shouted and threw the toad over her shoulder. The witch started rifling threw her book looking for something.
"I have a plan; Kara can you walk yet?" The good witch asked. Kara nodded. "It's only a matter of time before she looks at that compass and spots us." She slipped of her robe and continued. "Take this wand. I'm going to pretend to be a frog again and get up close to her. When I grab the book and run aim it right at her and say 'toad'."
"I don't know how to cast spells though" Kara said.
"Just say toad and aim as straight as possible. Hopefully nothing too weird happens" The witch replied nervously eyeing the fabric holding the wand together and clutching the amulet. Hopefully the jewel still had enough juice to prevent another spell cast on her.
Kara lowered herself in the water and watched the good witch emerge naked from the pond. "Grrbit!" She croaked and hopped closer.
"Finally some luck!" The evil witch Glenda exclaimed. She reversed the way she was flipping threw the book "Now hold still for a second I have just the thing to get that fancy amulet of your pretty chest HEY!" With a swift motion the good witch tore the book from Glenda and bolted to the pond.
"Now Kara!" said shouted.
"Toad!" Kara said pointing as best she could from this distance. A wide green light shot out and hit both witches covering them completely. When the light faded both witches had been turned to frog. Kara tried to move towards them but was stuck. That magic amulet's defense charm had froze her too.
"Nice plan" Christina wandered into Kara's view. The green beam must have hit her too. Christina grabbed an empty robe from the ground and threw it on. Next she grabbed Kara and got her to shore before picking up the spell book. The two frogs were hoping around her legs. "Any idea which witch is which?"
"Nnnnnnnmmm." Kara answered. She completely forgetting to keep track of them.
"Okay, when you unfreeze we have a choice to make." Christina replied.
