The Magic Shop

A bad time for a visitor

added by TempIns 6 years ago O

Andros carefully examined himself in the mirror.

The scales lining his back, arms and thighs were a purple color, but the scales running down his belly and under his tail were a light blue. A few green speckles dotted his upper thighs. Magenta spikes trailed down his back all the way to the tip of his tail. His body looked almost asexual, with a flat chest and bulging belly. He could not see any genitals. Either he didn't have any or they were hidden beneath his belly and tail. Two small white smooth membranous wings protruded from his back. They looked thin and fragile and he doubted they would be able to support his massive weight and allow him to fly. His hands had three thick stubby digits and a thumb ending in short claws. His feet were large and bulbous, with just three stubby toes ending in the same short claws. His thighs and calves were thick, but looked more like they were full of fat than muscle. He had no hair or ears, and his head was smooth. But it didn't look evil or menacing. Instead it looked friendly, with almost human looking blue eyes and a warm welcoming smile on his long snout.

He looked like a children's cartoon character brought to life and could have passed for someone in a very elaborate mascot costume. But when he opened his mouth and looked inside there was no doubt. There was no person in there, just a large thick tongue inside a wide snout lined by short dull teeth.

Andros knew he should be scared, but for some reason he wasn't worried. It didn't hurt. In fact, he felt quite good and full of energy, almost like a kid. He looked to the ground below the mirror and saw the zipper on the floor.

I guess I just reattach it and unzip it to take it off, he thought. Cool. Let's have some fun!

He plodded across the room, flapping his wings experimentally, trying to hover, only pausing occasionally to examine his reflection in the mirror. He was curious if he could breathe fire and was about to attempt it when he heard the doorbell ring.

Andros began to panic. He couldn't let anyone seem him like this! How could he explain it? He reached down to pick up the zipper, but his thick clumsy fingers couldn't grasp it. He heard a key in the lock and the doorknob began to rattle. His efforts became more desperate, but were just as futile.

Andros quickly debated his choices. He could continue to grapple with the zipper, hoping he could attach it and get out of the suit in time. But he wasn't even sure if that would work, and if he stepped out of the costume he would be completely nude. He could hide in the bathroom or closet. But he didn't know who was at the door, and if they searched the house it would be pretty hard for a large anthropomorphic dragon to avoid detection under close scrutiny. He could try to make a break for it and sneak out of the house. But then he would be stuck out in the world like this. Finally, he could just give up and open the door. Maybe he could convince them this was just a costume. If they didn't examine him too closely, that is.

The door began to creak as it opened and Andros chose to .....
