Nancy waited two days before she got the nerve to go to see her ole' chum. A partial hope that Tina was not maybe home, Nancy hitched a ride from a neighbor to bring her over to the Bayoun cottage.
Knocking at the front door it opened and there stood Tina. Her face was sturn but had a twinkle in her eyes. She opened the door and greeted Nancy in a very formal manner.
Nancy was escorted inside and after a few happy words from Tina's Mother she tugged on Nancy's arm to follow along. Not a word did she say but just pulled Nancy along till the two were out of sight and listening range of the house.
"Say something!" begged Nancy.
"Something, I want to say something to you Nancy Farnsworth....! I..I..just plain love you, your mu best..best of friends!" said Tina as she began to cry.
"Your not mad at me?" asked Nancy wondering what was cooking.
Sniffing Tina said, "No I'm not mad or angry or anything like that, I just am so thrilled for having the adventure of being a horse!"
"You mean, you liked being an animal?" asked Nancy looking puzzled.
"Well and animal no, but being a horse and filly grown to mare was the thrill of a lifetime, thank you Nancy!" replied Tina with beaming face full of smiles.
Now it was Nancy's turn as she pulled Tina along to their favorite spot atop the dune bluff.
