Constructed media personas were nothing new. Conjured up characters that were blared all over the media that were the 'next big star' were even less new. So when Dragonman appeared literally out of nowhere on every possible form of media, comics, TV, the internet, radio, video games, living performances, nobody thought it was anything strange or alarming.
And of course there was the endless line of every inane and insane piece of merchandising imaginable. Drinks. Food. PLENTY of costumes. Toys. Both action figure and plush. You name it. He had countless continuities right at the start. Which seemed rather odd, apparently each other designed for a different target group.
What was the real selling point, and what separated them from the rest however... was the QUALITY! Professional artists, voice actors, writers, composure, musicians, designs, were all called in and paid handsomely to ensure that Dragonman was a household name and the people couldn't get enough of him!
From teenage girls, to preschoolers, to middle aged men, to collage kids, there seemed to be a variance of Dragonman for everyone! From fluffy comical big bellied cutie dragon cartoons who just wanted to be friends, to incredibly shadowy and brutally designed comic books seeing Dragonman burn up the bad guys with his Dragon Breath. There was even a theme park that had sprung out of nowhere!
Dragonman had taken the world by storm, and now it would be time to spring the trap and bring humanity into the dragon fold.
