The next several hours past in a blur of passion and heat. Despite initial awkwardness, due to your only experience being with a tail, you both quickly adjusted. Each time one of you began to slow down, the other took the lead and caused another wall of pleasure to rock you both. Even when you could no longer explore each other due to the heat of the room being almost unbearable, neither of you wanted to leave the bed and admit this moment could end. Eventually though, your phone began to ring, and, with obvious reluctance, you separated after pausing to take a deep breath of Corey's smell.
The Caller ID told you it was a classmate, who informed you that classes for today and tomorrow were cancelled due to flooding. He asked if you were okay, as you sounded exhausted.
"Never been better, don't worry." You said, turning to your best friend who was standing up and mouthed "Shower?" to you. You nodded slowly, taking in a long look at her naked body, quickly turning your head when she smiled a sly smile at your gaze.
"Anything else? I... need to go." As soon as you heard no, you hung up and followed Corey to the bathroom, where she was looking out towels to use.
"Share? Save water that way." She began to turn to you but you both started as you seen each other in the light.
"Your eyes! My eyes?!" You both say at the same time. Corey's eyes had changed to her mermaid colour, and presumably your own had too. You quickly crowded to the mirror and confirmed it, both reflections showing concern.
"Beach?" "Beach."
You both scrambled to get a swimsuit on and get to the car, holding hands the whole way to comfort one another. The mermaids had said it was temporary and more was a choice but you were both concerned that the choice was being taken from you. Desperate to break the silence, but unsure what to say, you start humming and to your surprise, Corey joins in. Even after parking near the beach, you both stay in the car, hands clasped and continue the song, entranced. At some point you had closed your eyes, so when you felt the song approaching the end you let them ease open, but when they opened you were greeted by a worried expression. The tips of your hair were raised slightly, against the pull of gravity and the very ends were glowing very faintly, giving the appearance that each strand had a tiny LED on them. What worried you most was that Corey didn't. Your concern must have been visible, because she squeezed your hand tighter, "I-I was focused on driving. R..uh..Remember that they had to concentrate to light up." She rationalised, and you found yourself nodding desperately in reply, though you couldn't say you were convinced. You couldn't tell what worried you more, the idea that you would become a mermaid against your will or that Corey might be able be given the choice and choose to stay on land. You got out the car and began rushing towards the place where this all began.
