You tell Stephen everything: About bringing Keith to a college open house, about making Keith's clothes disappear and turning him into a dog. Then the unfortunate events of turning Keith into a pile of dog crap and a cop into a Tupperware container. You pull in front of Stephen's destinations just as you finish your tale.
He glances out the window and then down at his watch. "Wow. You definitely know how to tell a story there, dude. Surprised you didn't join the creative writing group in high school. You definitely have the imagination for it."
"Steve, I know this is really hard to believe, but I'm telling the truth. Like, down there, there's Keith and the cop, right next to your feet."
Stephen glances down at the Tupperware container with a disconcerted expression. "Ah, did you seriously put dog crap into a Tupperware container so someone would believe that crazy story?"
"...what? No, why the hell would I do that?"
"Ur...that's why I'm asking."
You groan, and realize that if someone told you a similar story, you would most likely have the very same reaction that Stephen was now. "OK. I know that all of these sounds completely insane. I understand that, but I knew you as a pretty smart dude growing up, and I figured if someone could give me some sound advice, it would be you."
"Hey, I'm honored, but I don't think I'm your guy. Well, I better me going, I'm going to be late."
You pull the key out of the ignition, take a deep breath, and push a button on the keys.
With a sudden flash of light, Stephen is obscured, and when the light clears, there is a ferret sitting in the seat in his place.
The ferret looks about, and then looks up at you, then speaks in Stephen's voice, maybe a bit squeakier than before. "What happened? Hey, did you get bigger?" The ferret rubs his face, then stares at his pink-padded paws. "What the hell?" He then looks down at his body and soon is running in a circle on the seat, bouncing about, swearing, a ferrety blur of panic.
"Whoa. Steve. Calm down. I can fix this. Maybe? Ur...I guess don't have a good track record on that."
